I remember hearing the same thing when the Republicans were passing the Patriot Act as if a Democrat would never use it against them. It was the very next president who abused the Fisa courts.

It's almost like whenever Republicans expand government power, it comes back to bite them in the arse.

It will never happen. But when it does, the other guys deserve it.... and as a whole a majority will cheer it on.

Double edge sword.

Difference though in actual law breaking criminals and those with ideas you don't like.

That's with anything the Federal Gov does though.

That's why, we the people, must force the reps and Senators to do the will of the people

By the time Trump is finished, it'll be decades (if ever) before the Marxist Dems any real oower again.

They never really had legitimate power. If not for their cheating, MSM propaganda machine, and frickery in DC... they had nothing. Trump is exposing them and anyone with a functional brain and marginal critical thinking skills sees it.

Letting things get to this point was the bad precedent.

Popular logic here seems to be some over hyped drama that our cities are way too unsafe and they this was the only reasonable way to deal with state and local government failing.

It'll be interesting to see what state failings the Democrats see when they're in office now that precedent is set.

It's crazy to me to see everyone on here evolve from small government to we support big government authoritarianism. Although not entirely shocking since it's what trump wanted.

All those socialist and Marxist deaths everyone cites weren't at the beheast of their socialist healthcare agency but their police and military forces used on citizens....

So is impeaching a president at every turn but that didn’t stop the cheerleading. So is gerrymandering voting districts but it’s only a problem when on party does it.

frick it, leave the gloves off.

Where have you been the past 8 years? The Democrat’s abuse of power has led to this mess. That argument is water under the dam.

Do I like where we are? No. Did the Democrats think their abuse of power through using the justice system as a weapon to go after political opponents, shopping for judges to get favored outcomes, violating election protocols if not laws, generating lies to create ridiculous impeachment efforts, ignoring blatant violations by their leadership and family while attacking other leaders and their families, abusing the tax dollars to fund their political choices, abusing the immigration issue in an attempt to flood the country with future votes, taking fringe issues WAY TOO FAR often impacting children, ignoring violence if committed by the favored demographic etc would go unchecked forever?

Nobody can act as though previous actions by Democrats didn’t drive this reaction and claim to worry what about next time. That bridge has long been crossed and until a large segment of the D party becomes more concerned about the US and not their respective party and their sweet government gig, this unfortunately will continue. Finally some of the Rs have said enough and will play the same way.

Well, let's see: The Dem way has accomplished what? Every Dem I saw for 4 years of jackass Biden and the idiot Dem crew had a large security entourage around them 24/7/365. What were the Dems afraid of if everything they did was for ALL Americans and so pure and righteous? Bringing in all of the illegal muchachos made the Dems feel as though they had their own army coming on board. My, how that is changing.................And if Dem men (term used loosely) weren't such big p*&*^%$ies they'd fight instead of sending in the bigfoot-looking Dem women to do it for them. So much to be proud of huh.

So using the guard to clean up what dimocrap mayor caused will put them back in office?

So your suggestion is to continue to let bad actors rule so a dimocrap can stay in office instead of attempting to clean up the mess dimocraps have let happen/caused.

Sure as hell ain't with me. Seems pretty over thought and not aware of just how bad things are.

I'd send in the Marines instead of the Boy Scouts.

Drastic times call for drastic measures. <- I just made that up. Pretty profound, don't you think?

It's a shame how grown humans can be so socially unaware and delusional, even in the face of evidence being prevalent every day.

I get your drift. But the cities were purposely turned into shitholes. Clean them all up one and done.

You forgot one.....Bush and the weapons of mass destruction. Everyone loves to discuss all the things the DEMS have done since Obama. No one wants to discuss that republican president and his cronies lied to get us into a war that lasted 20yrs and destroyed 2-3 generations of service members... yea its all the dems fault..

We have too many relativists on here to acknowledge what a quantum leap this will be if he does it.

My solution would be larger state/federal task forces, more involvement from federal law enforcement, reshaping the FBI away from GWOT footing and more towards enforcement and local assistance, more assistant US Attorneys.

Or we could take the approach of the board and treat US ghettos like Israel is treating Gaza.

Good ideas. The point you are missing in your suggestions is the democrats are participating in demoralization and destabilization in big cities. If Trump said clean it up or you lose funding it would fail and be in courts for years.

I see it as a temp solution, as well as a way to get at certain gang and cartel members hiding.

The republicans are useless and feckless. The democrats are failing to the point of: Staying in their ivory tower mansions as the cites ruin. Very much like the controlled take down as seen in VZ.

Imagine having a regulation that anyone can steal up to $850 in goods from any store unchecked. Where Trump is going in w/ the NG as back up: They are defunding the police.

If left as is, people will die and it is just time to end it.

Unprecedented is doing unprecedented temporary things.
