They need as many names as possible on the rolls. Those magical machines can make sure her vote is counted for many years to come. No need to return that ballot.

If his mother is deceased, he probably still has her DL.
The concept of preventing voter fraud has it backwards. Voter rolls must be checked for valid voters before ballots are mailed. That’s the best way to prevent fraud. Requiring a copy of a DL still enables it. Why would you think they even attempt to verify whether or not a DL is valid and not photoshopped if they didn’t even bother to verify whether someone who has been dead for 2 years is still alive? The records are in a government database just like DL records are.

Honestly didn’t know that was required. I assumed the death certificate I got from the state would take her off the voter roll.
