The thing that never happens…

Happened. My mom has been dead for over 2 years. We had her mail forwarded to our address so nothing fell through the cracks. Guess what she got yesterday? A mail in ballot for Baldwin County, AL, which wasn’t even her primary residence.

Uh, I don’t think Alabama does mail ballots. Was it an absentee ballot? Those can be requested via mail.

Definitely an absentee ballot. Regardless, she sure as hell didn’t request it because she’s been dead for over 2 years. And also, not her primary residence.

Sounds like someone knew she was deceased, tried to use her beach home address, and was going to snag it out of her primary residence mail box before any family member checked the mail and vote for her to defraud an obviously conservative area.

Yeah someone may be trying to steal some votes that way. But I think you need to send a copy of your DL back with it to be valid. Hard to steal many votes in Alabama this way. By and large our elections are pretty secure.
