quote:

NY State has up to a 11% income tax.
NY City has another almost 4% income tax.
Stack that on top of the upper wealthy of roughly 38% federal tax

So living in NYC will cost you roughly 60% on your income.

Those are marginal tax rates and not effective tax rates.

Noone is paying 60% of their income in taxes.

Good try though, bud.

This is not simping for NY. Y'all constantly post lies that are easy to debunk.

NY is a terrible place to do business, and their taxes are too high. You don't need to lie to further your point.

Way to often correct.

They will blame NYC but not the democrats and liberal ideas that made them flee NYC.

Yep - half of California moved to Austin Texas and turned it blue.

Seriously? Have you ever met a Democrat from NYC that’s wealthy. They are incapable of thinking they have ever been wrong about anything.

Sounds like Uptown New Orleans democrats.

They will move to conservative states and still vote Democratic.

This isn't what happened in Idaho. It had a big influx of people from blue states, specifically California, Washington and Oregon. These newcomers are registering republican at a greater percentage than the existing population.

Look at the voting and COVID records for Broward county (Florida) and get back to me. It was about 60/40 (D) across the board. A single (R) was selected out of more than 25 positions at large.

I think a lot of them will just move to other parts of NY state.

NYC taxes are collected if you earn there, not necessarily if you reside there.

Getting away from NYC for tax purposes means you can’t just move upstate or to NJ or CT.

Speaking from experience, that is a pipe dream. The Yankees who now live in Asheville still vote for commies and blame conservatives when shite goes wrong.

They NEVER admit that their ideas are bad.

Naw they’ll probably move to New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont, etc. They like big government, just not that big and they love Camel Jockeys except when they actually have to you know, interact with them at any level whatsoever.

OK. Let’s compare TX versus NY. I pay about 2% of my home price per year and then federal taxes. Much lower then the NY taxes

I think some will leave but I think the wealthier ones that stay will find some ways to divert tax liabilities. In the end, the city will try to close loopholes but it will still be a deficit of funding all the free bullshite. It's either that or Mamdami will have to tell the people he can't do everything he promised.

So you think that the people leaving will be the people that voted in the winner?
