i dont know man... isnt a lot of that a biproduct of elite, well bred people sending their nepo babies all through the same institution? As if those kids werent going to be successful with a degree from somewhere else? Look at elite private high schools in your area.... fill those schools with ghetto trash and see what happens.

When you consider bullshite degrees, then sure. But the greatest scientists in the world flocked to America to work in these Universities, and the greatest students in the world followed them there. Elon Musk is one example out of thousands.

Is quite simply the amount of students they let in
Nah. The Ivy problem is their restriction on conservative thought, speech, and study.

I’m sorry it upsets you, but Ivy League schools are private universities, and can admit who they want to.

Aside from the already mentioned public funds they receive, we're also fully entitled to shame & badmouth them for their practices thanks to our first amendment rights

Maybe they don’t have room??? I imagine their old campuses are pretty landlocked, not much room left to add buildings

Right...I'm sure they can't possibly engineer any solution to increase the square footage of their universities

"Greatest students in the world"? By what criteria? Legacy students.....daddy got me in....make up more than a few of these greatest students. Why did Yale work so hard to keep Asians out? It was sued, and lost, for discriminating entrance rules that were in place to limit the number of Asians entering. Too, very few Asians are progressives & did not "fit in" with the university's policies. Made America rich & powerful? The State Dept. is almost 80% comprised of Ivies & it is by far the most liberal Federal Agency. Not often to America's benefit. There is a good reason why Obama filled the junior ranks / interns with graduates from the Ivies. They are now in policy-making positions.

Ivy League alumni include:
Ron DSantis
Ted Cruz
JD Vance
Josh Hawley
Tom Cotton

Should I keep going?

I would submit that has always been the case. Some bright people have come from those schools but they were probably wasting their time because they were smarter than the faculty.

They may not have the infrastructure to support more students. I have no idea if they do or don’t, it’s just a thought.
If so, that's on purpose. If Harvard has a $50B endowment, you don't think they could have capital building campaigns? Schools do it all of the time.

Then they should not have any problem being denied taxpayer money.

Always been elitist and fraudulent in the sense they take public money despite being private.

No one is arguing over their crazy discriminatory policies of the last couple of decades. This is like arguing over whether the Miss America Pageant attracts beautiful women. I’m not wasting my time.

Universities add buildings all the time. This is just excuse making for an institution creating false scarcity.

They absolutely can admit who they want to.

And the US taxpayer shouldn’t have to provide funding.

that....which is why one of the most important things about these institutions is the networking opportunity.

This can't be emphasized enough. My brother graduated from Penn and best friend from HS got his MBA from Harvard.

I have no doubt both would've had success had they gone the non Ivy route but the connections they made were invaluable in the course of their careers.
