The Promise of Socialism Is Misery for All

Earlier this week, the House of Representatives voted 220-192 to approve a resolution condemning socialism. Only eight Democrats joined the Republicans in voting for the measure.

The resolution read in part:

Whereas socialist ideology necessitates a concentration of power that has, time and time again, collapsed into communist regimes, totalitarian rule, and repressive dictatorships…[Socialism] has repeatedly led to famine and mass murders, and the killing of over 100,000,000 people worldwide.

It then turns to the rise of Democratic Socialists of America, and the DSA policy positions such as voting by noncitizens and incarcerated criminals, abolishing the U.S. Senate, and replacing the two-party system. It then denounces socialism in all its forms, declaring it incompatible with American values and the Constitution.

Is this a solution in search of a problem? Hardly.

According to the Brookings Institution, 282 candidates ran with some level of DSA endorsement in the 2026 election cycle; so far, 123 have won their primaries.

The rise in socialist candidates comes as a generation that never saw the Iron Curtain increasingly sees socialism as nothing more than a government-provided safety net. But history warns that when government becomes powerful enough to guarantee equality, the safety net can become a net from which there is no escape.

I remember when Americans didn’t have to debate whether socialism worked. We watched people escape from it.

In 1989, when the Berlin Wall fell, I was working with the U.S. Department of State managing one of its Anti-Terrorism Assistance Program sites. Within months of the fall of the wall, we began training police officers and other security officials in the United States from former Eastern Bloc countries. I vividly recall greeting one of the groups and taking them to the grocery store on the way to the dormitories where they would be staying.

When they entered the Albertsons, they froze. Some of them began to cry, and I asked the interpreter what was wrong. He said they had never seen so much in one place, and they asked who was allowed to come into the store. I said whoever wanted to, but that there were stores like this all over. They said they had been told Americans were living just like them, waiting hours each day for a loaf of bread or whatever was available.

Totalitarian systems don’t merely control economic production; eventually they must control information, because people inevitably begin asking why the promised equality has produced scarcity.

People are addicted to the idea of free shite and entitlement.

They lack the critical thinking skills to recognize the promises are impossible to deliver.

Plus these DSA asshats want to do away with the separation of powers integral to our Republic. It makes it much easier to install a dictator. No checks or balances.

When the government is the provider who regulates them?

When government is a monopoly provider then there is no incentive for good service.

When the government controls production and distribution they control you.

These losers that can’t succeed in a free economy want to drag everyone else down to their level.

Liberty will reign in America!

Maybe they can vote on a resolution condemning wearing white after Labor Day next. Will have just as much impact.

These clowns are the biggest welfare queens in America.

"Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy. Its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery."

Yes and no. It’s a different kind of misery in that there’s never any security, and you never know when it’s your turn to get the inevitable knock on the door at 2 am.

Only 8 Democrats voted in favor of the resolution, which means that Democrats are scared shitless of getting primaried.

Democrat primaries are becoming the way that Republican primaries have been for the last few cycles, where the candidate who ventures the furthest from center and acts the craziest wins.

All of the craziness – left and right – is mainly a result of economic anxieties relating to automation and the transfer of wealth from the global west to global east. When generations realize that they won't do as well as their parents, they start searching for something different, and the crazies come out to play.

Old white democrats have to embrace the evil of young socialists in order to keep their grip on power.

Young socialists smile through their teeth at old white democrats because they need them to convince the heard to vote for their socialist comrades.

Soon they will not longer need the old white democrats and they will devour them first. This is how socialism works and how something so evil can come into power.

The second elected politicians began siding with people who hate this country and its constitution was the very moment this country died. It's a bullet that cannot be called back to the gun. Mark my words.

The dems are going the globalist route.
Theyre united.

The far left is going the communist route.
This is where the woke shite comes from.

At this rate one of these two will eventually win.

I cant say what needs to be done on this platform but if you look at history and see how the people took care of communists and socialists, that needs to happen here.

The Czar condemned Communists and we see how that worked out.

If the Republicans and moderate Democrats want to stop Socialism, then they to need to shut their mouths and get to work for the people. Fix healthcare, the price of living, and housing.

This is the key. Most people know that socialism is not going to make them richer. But it's gonna make rich people more like them.

Young socialists all want "free healthcare" when they don't need it and will accept in return euthanasia as treatment when they do need it (when they are old).

Imagine being so stupid that you think government can actually fix these things... Government involvement is the problem in the first place.

It seems that the"Rich" that have stolen from the working class, are the ones who push Socialism.

What have Bernie Sanders, Mamdani, and Soros ever done to earn their wealth?
