I've often thought Communism is a rebirth of the Feudal system. The Government Ruling class owns it all. The Serfs will take what they give and shut up.
No Freedom, no innovation, no incentive.
Name one product the Soviet Union or Chinese invented and was competitive in the world market.
The Catholic Church and the Feudal System kept us in the Dark Ages for a thousand years.
Once the Printing Press was invented, the Bible was printed, and folks learned we are all Children of God, so why do theleaders treat us like a sub human species.
Communists doesn't believe in God, therefore no individual freedom, therefore no inventions.

Socialist USA will NOT be misery for "all". There will be politically protected demographic groups that will not share in the misery. The Government will make sure that they are happy, because the continued existence of The Government depends on keeping those demo groups happy.
The misery will be imposed on the non-politically favored demo groups.
It will be like the old Soviet Union around here in this ole USA.
