Ukrainian propaganda has gotten out of hand.

There has been massive loss of life in Ukraine on both sides. The Russians are stalled and so now they're bombing civilian population centers.

I don't think they are stalled. That's the western narrative and it's hard to believe. It seems that they knew this would be a long, months on end war. Their strategy is cutting off the major cities then pounding them with artillery, missiles, and airstrikes.
This is the largest country in Europe well supplied with United States military equipment. This isn't like the US easily rolling through a much smaller country in Iraq with an outdated army and little modern military equipment.

They are stalled.
The spring thaw has arrived and the ground is turning to mush over there. It's going to be impossible for any substantial movement for sometime due to the changing seasons. It's quite obvious Putin thought this would be a quick campaign based on when he attacked. If he had thought it would be a long war he would have waited until June.

Exactly, no roads in Ukraine

If Ukrainian soldiers would stop using human shields there wouldn’t be much of a stall

They are essentially stalled on 2 of their 3 fronts… they’re still making gains in the east, but south and especially the north are stalled out.
The logistical challenges to resupply these areas is taking its toll….their forces are spread thin… and their combat effectiveness has decreased. It doesn’t take a genius to come to these conclusions.

Even the Putin dick suckers gotta admit that’s strange… one of the largest militaries invading the largest country in Europe and there’s no military commander in charge of all theaters?… no wonder it’s a disjointed clusterfrick.
quote:
The US has been unable to determine if Russia has designated a military commander responsible for leading the country's war in Ukraine, according to multiple sources familiar with the matter — something that current and former defense officials say is likely a key contributor to the apparent clumsiness and disorganization of the Russian assault.

US Defense Briefing
This was brought up in a question about the number of high ranking Russian officers KIA… but it also speaks to why they appear to be incapable of combined-arms operations utilizing air support, armor, and infantry… they lack flexibility within their command structure.
The whole briefing is interesting and paints a pretty bleak picture for Russians.
quote:
they don't organize their military the way we do. They don't have an equivalent to a noncommissioned officers corps, for instance, and their junior officers don't have the same wherewithal, flexibility. They're not -- we don't -- they don't invest in their junior officers the kind of initiative that we do. I mean, so at -- at very tactical levels -- and you guys know this all. You've all covered our wars the last 20 years. You know that we put a lot into an E-4 and an E-5 and an E-6 to -- to make decisions literally in the moment on the battlefield. They don't have that kind of a tradition. They don't have that structure.

quote:one word, corruption. There’s a lot of that with the entire Russian military infrastructure, starting with the very top. Corruption can’t be centralized, so if the president is one of the richest men in the world and is taking from the cookie jar, the people below him will do the same and it spreads like wildfire amongst the ranks. “If he does it and gets rich, so can I”. For how the Russians “maintained” their vehicles and other military equipment over the years, it looks like a lot of corners were cut. And it goes beyond that, even the training for their soldiers doesn’t seem right. Saw a tik tok of an entire squad of Russian soldiers who were basically taking a video of their assault getting shot at from a Ukrainian ambush and they stayed grouped together really tight and fast walking down the middle of the street, standing up a slight bit hunched over. I’m just sitting their watching it going omg, what is you doin

Or we just want the truth to a complex situation.
People like you posting a Ukraine flag and only accepting a narrow view does nothing. Absolutely nothing.

NO NO NO. THE MEDIA SAYS IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN OVER IN 2 DAYS.

Stalled because invasions don’t last less than 2 weeks and sieging cities don’t take 2 days? The most recent siege of Sarajevo lasted nearly 3 years, not 3 weeks, not 3 days, not 3 hours. The fact is that this war will last much longer and Ukrainians will die and be misplaced unless your precious Zelensky takes his corrupt arse and surrenders. Go ahead, I guess wanting less destruction and death is pro Putin while you preach western propaganda rhetoric in an air conditioned house while the country gets destroyed.
This is why people don’t take CNN seriously. If the Russians would’ve taken Ukraine by now this invasion would’ve been in the Guinness book of world records war achievements. In addition, this whole the war will be over quick narrative is just complete bullshvt, it’s literally been said for every past war in history. Oh WW1 will be over by Christmas. Oh the Civil War will be over by Christmas. WW2 will be a quick war! Covid will be over by Easter with filled churches. You fell for the oldest most cliché tool in the book Mr. CNN.

Ukraine has retaken Makariv West of Kyiv and is conducting more and more counterattacks while the Russians are stalled. See a lot of stuff about Belarus preparing to go into Ukraine as well, but I honestly think the Belarus soldiers are looking at what's happening to the Russian troops down there and are like "Nah, we good on that"
