Andrew Doyle's book 'End of Woke' sites an interesting poll taken in the U.K.
It asked what profession had the most untrustworthy people. The winner by a landslide: Politicians.
Some blamed stupid voters and the proposed fix was to give extra votes to smart people. This wouldn't work. The scale that was proposed gave lots of extra votes to college professors.

I have always grouped used car salesmen, politicians, and preachers as one in the same.

Yeah, the ones with the billboards: 'Have an accident? Call us Now!' are crooks from the beginning. And there are some politicians who are crooked from day one. But most politicians BECOME more evil by getting drunk on power. There are even some Roman emperors who started out great and then went nuts.

Have you ever heard of modern journalism or journalist ? They are the crypt keepers that allows politicians misdeeds to stay out of sight, at least till political leaders decide otherwise

Sin is at the heart of corruption, not intelligence. Intelligence just helps someone find more creative ways to be corrupt and to cover it up better.

We need a moral society, directed by Christian morality and a recognition of a creator who will judge wickedness.

Transnational Progressivism is is the intellectual basis for the whole political movement and it is virtually impossible to refute from an idealistic base. Both practically and morally. Of course the realistic aspect of TP’s ‘herding cats’ MO is that all Religions and Ideologies must be forcibly brought under the DEI narrative. And that is where realism kicks in and idealism hits the brick wall of human nature.

The point about intelligence was just about voters and the idea that dumb people are easier to sway is true. The problem is how to determine the line between dumb and smart. The easiest line we had was only men voting. Women are less swayed by logic and more swayed by emotion.

Not to bash lawyers just for being lawyers, but there's one aspect of it that lends itself perfectly to being a good politician (which is to say "not a good thing).

By profession, they argue for a side, not necessarily the truth, facts, or reality.

Take defense lawyers, for example. For the justice system to work, a robust defense must be presented in order for the prosecution to be legitimate. So they play a vital role in defending someone who's completely guilty, if for no other reason than to ensure the prosecution is clean.

Translated into politics, they have the ability and training to advocate for utter and complete nonsense, and they have no qualms about doing it.

Probably. Politicians keep their jobs by being voted into office. In order to do that, they make promises they know they can't keep. When called out on it after they get in office, they will make some excuse (the other side did this, which prevented it from happening, etc.) Rinse and repeat.

One simple way to eliminate the low IQ uninformed voter would be to make anyone who wants a voter I.D. pass a basic civics test.

Certainly creates job security for that profession.

Hell, you could get simpler than that. Simply answer these 3 questions. Miss any and you flunk:
a. In which hemisphere would we find India?
b. Are coyotes subject to compulsory school attendance laws?
c. Is Scrabble an event in the Summer Olympics?
I guarantee you that tons of people will flunk.

How about people who are paid to regurgitate ridiculous, bullshite talking points on the internet? At least politicians talk bullshite to your face. These people do it anonymously and with nothing to gain except a dime per post on Internet discussion boards. They're worse than frickin pond scum.

Never forget lawyers are trained and take pride in arguing and litigating for whoever is paying them despite of the position or moral implications.

You should also have skin the game, as well. If you don't pay taxes you shouldn't have a vote in how they are spent.

Most politicians of course. Particularly those in the White House, Senate and House right now. Can't name an honorable one.

Lobbyists prioritizing special interests, self-interest, or partisanship over truth/transparency.

"Faith Leaders" like Joel Osteen, offering blessings as financial prosperity, health & improved personal relationships, particularly the more you tithe. Or those who delve into politics under the guise of "Christian Nationalism" while dining at the trough like Paula White.

'Nuff said.
