The gun control folks LOVE to tell you that 10 million baws with ARs don’t stand a chance against the government. Yet an 18 year old freak that had owned a gun for one week held the Uvalde Police Department, Uvalde Sheriffs Department, Border Control, and at least some Federal Marshalls at bay for an hour.

A mom went in and came out with her two kids. That was after she was handcuffed for yelling at the officers to go in. When they finally removed the handcuffs, she bolted in and got her own kids out. They would have to hog tie me until the end to keep me out of that school.

They didn’t need 50 officers in there. Everyone was called to the scene and some needed to set a perimeter. Sounds like the Resource Officer was worthless. The tactical team went in right after. What I am not sure about is if that tactical team was Uvalde Police or Border Patrol because the latter was reported to kill him. I want to know that part.
That said, it’s dumb to suggest that every policeman and parent on the scene needed to engage the shooter that was locked in a small room with 26 to 30 people. That would be chaos.

The press conference today was horrible. Don't know if the responding officers had body cams or not. If they did some of that is still be evaluated. Sounds like there was a gun fight initially at the classroom door, police may have been outgunned and backed off. Then the door gets locked. Don't know how the door was locked but there are many devices for sale that are used in schools to barricade themselves in. We will know more in a few days. The outcome maybe that the first responders had no way to get into the classroom.

Uvalde, Tx is a 90+% white, republican town in the heart of Texas. I doubt the people you’re “holding accountable” here are the same as these grieving parents. These LEOs shite the bed and it’s not people in Oregon’s fault.

It’s that fricking simple. My mind is exploding. My wife is a 1st grade teacher and I have two elementary aged kids. If 50+ cops sat outside while the shooter was active, I would absolutely lose my mind.

That's the part that those saying it was too late to go in because he had already shot up the classroom don't get. How many of those children might have bled to death during the hour the cops did nothing while waiting on a tactical unit to show up. No way all those kids died instantly when shot. Sadly that is a question no one will ever be able to answer.

As horrific as this is to even think about, some of the kids who survived will know. They will remember when their classmate stopped crying, or moaning, or breathing.
