Or are you saying oopsy, it’s too late so we must keep committing suicide bc the losers noped out of their duty to society and had too many kids?
What I'm saying is that the "solutions" offered here are ridiculous because y'all are ignoring both the scope and the nature of the problem.
Like this one...

Do you think they would simply quietly starve instead? Or suddenly become model Chic-Fil-A employees?
I mean, yeah plenty would if they had to.
No. No, they wouldn't. Because there are 127 million of them and only a tiny fraction of jobs available. Even if they wanted to work, they'd be unable to.
quote:
The ones who don’t can find out.
No, dude. YOU would find out.
quote:
Yeah, perfect excuse to take them out of our society.
So you're going to take 120 million people out of American society? Over a third of the country? Even if that were possible (it's not), what do you think that would do to the economy? This thread's not capable of having that discussion.
quote:
But plenty other things could be worked out.
120 million of them? Keep in mind that about 160 million people were employed in America in August 2025. So you're talking about almost doubling the number of jobs in the country.

committing suicide
Are you always a giant drama queen?

Let’s watch it burn down then.
It would seem so. Typical populist idiocy. There's something you don't like in society, so that means society is "burning down."
Don't look now, Chicken Little, but we're currently enjoying the highest standard of living in human history.
Does that mean this isn't a problem? Nope. Not saying anything of the sort.
What I'm saying—in fact—is that this is a far bigger problem than the people on this thread seem to be able to conceive of. Why, I don't know. It's pretty simple math. It's not difficult to understand.

Start drug testing them, it would probably cut the number in half.

Thank Lyndon B Johnson. He laid the groundwork for the transformation of the Dem Party into the Democratic Socialist Party. And Obama’s “managed decline” as the formerly prosperous Middle Class is sacrificed on the altar of DEI.
As far as a solution, given the extraordinary dynamics that the Constitutional Republic’s freedom and prosperity has created, that will be determined the same way that most all Marxist revolutions are. Needless to elaborate as the historical record is there for those with enough caring or sense to examine it.
Honestly, AI and High Tech might mitigate the damage and pain, or conversely multiply it. But imo, it will be Jesus that rides to the rescue after our best efforts fall short. Could be a fairy tale, but we’ll find out soon enough.

Part of the problem (definitely not all), is the disappearance of work that these folks could do.
Some of these dumbasses forty years ago could get a job at a factory. Hey, slap a sticker on every one of these boxes as they come down the line. You can act like a monkey and manage to do that. But so much of that work has been automated or off-shored.
A much larger percentage of the jobs in our economy now require either intelligence or social skills. Which these types of people don't have.

Generational welfare and a dependence on drugs are the two main culprits. It will take a long time to rewire their brains to function again.

The 122 million isn’t quite the number to use for your argument, although I hear you.
Take out kids, disabled folks, people only on Medicaid(are they all also on SNAP? I need to learn more about how Medicaid works), and others who aren’t in the category of able bodied shite birds leaching off the rest of us and I doubt it’s close to 122 million folks who have to get their shite together.

LOL.
O.k. Fair enough. Say it's half. Say it's 1/3.
So we only need 40 million job openings. The scope of the problem is still far too vast for, "Well, they can all learn welding."

Workfare is a solution. Everyone has to work to get government assistance. You can sweep the streets or pick up trash. You can cook meals for your fellow bums. You can provide daycare for the children of other workfare recipients. Etc.

millions more useless people.

A certain percentage of people don’t have a decent IQ.
This will not change.
Such people aren’t capable of a job due to IQ deficiency.
We need to find a way to take care of them or we will have problems.
Technology has and will continue to eliminate low IQ jobs, exacerbating the problem.

As a long time public school teacher, I can assure you, many more are on the way!
It's too late for me to lay everything out tonight, but I could write a fkn manifesto on the multitude of nonsense that occurs on a daily basis - and that's not even getting into the fake academic and disciplinary data, nor the numerous safety nets in place that basically push a student through as long as they're breathing and don't murder or rape anyone (on campus).

The left is cool with mass abortion, canceling folks, wars, assassinations, etc. The right is cool with its share of things that frick people’s lives too. But heaven fricking forbid we let people fail after taking away their undeserved gov assistance.
You don’t want abortions and you want less government subsidies? Those two things are obviously diametrically opposed when you look at the demographics of people who have abortions. But the right doesn’t like data, numbers, math, science or reality.

absolutely. One reason I strongly believe in securing the border. We are going to need less, much less, low IQ jobs as ai and technology rapidly advances.
