Your OP is a beautiful piece of fear-mongering propaganda. And like most good propaganda, it is based on facts. And like most good propaganda, it lies by omission.
Time and time again fear-mongering propaganda has been used to erode protections of our rights. "Fear the communists, we must fight them over there, not over here." led to erosion of 1A rights. "Fear drugs, we must eradicate them from our society." led to an erosion of our 4A rights. "Fear terrorists, they are coming after your very way of life." led to the Patriot Act.
We meddle in other countries' internal affairs, we demand other countries acquiescence to our economic model, and we foment revolution and sponsor terrorism when our national security interests (really our national corporate interests) are threatened.
The Imams of Iran believe that pride, greed, lust, envy, gluttony, wrath, and sloth are sins that, if committed, will lead a soul to an eternity of damnation. The economy we force on the world is based on those very sins. They are trying to protect their people from the sinfulness that we require of other nations.

Based on available info, this is a good opportunity to KO Iran’s nuclear ability without having to commit ground forces to the fight, do any nation-building, etc. It’s probably wise to take that opportunity rather than wait on Iran to get its shite back together or press for a higher degree of nuclear capability.
