Hey, at least they helped to make their own grandkids hated minorities in their own country.

But at least they aren't racist. I mean, everyone but us seems to be, but if we keep giving away our civilization, we'll be all paid up and that's when the good times begin, right?

The ones who claim to be millennials (like yourself), and who post here ... negative.
Sorry.

For some of y'all, the average person, boomer or not, would think twice before passing funds on

You are so misinformed. It ain't boomers that are on every kind of mental illness medication known to man or that have to have CBD shops to get through the fricking day. Boomers got up with the sun and worked till the sun went down. You ought to try it. It's refreshing instead of sleeping your fricking life away eating antidepressants.

Maybe for some. My grandparents end of life care didn’t suck out all the resources my parents inherited.

You really have no idea as to the amount of money the OP is addressing, do you? Stop for a minute. Do the math. Take your time. Our annual budget outlay is $7T. The amount we're discussing is nearly 18 annual US budgets. That ain't going to "Medicare and long care facilities."

Wrong.

Even if the total boomer wealth were $200 trillion (it’s not—real estimates are ~$80–90T max, much of it illiquid home equity), the transfer happens over 20–30 years as people die, not as a lump-sum firehose in 2026.
Meanwhile, the present-value cost of Medicare + Medicaid long-term care for that same cohort is already projected at north of $50–70 trillion (CBO/SSA numbers). Add in private nursing homes, and you’re easily eating the majority of inheritable wealth before a dime hits the kids.
So yes, even spread out, the math still routes most of it straight to hospitals, pharma, and care facilities. The “18 budgets” talking point ignores both the timeline and the actuarial black hole we’ve already dug.

Well at least we have it to take care of those expenses. What are you going to use? Because despite your generational superiority, you are gonna die of the same shite we die from and will be in the same assisted living and memory care facilities.

This guy gets it. The cost of Boomers for a few decades now, is far more then what they contribute. That's the biggest problem.

No worries. Their Millennial beneficiaries will blow through it all in a month.

All will balance out perfectly.

My money and resources + healthspan and lifespan are increasing so people will live longer, lives with more vitality. AI and other advancements in healthcare and nutrition will make this possible.

Look into the longevity movement if you haven’t already. I’d encourage you to upgrade your diet, sleep, etc. as much as possible. So you can be here and ready to take advantage of all the advancements.

Yeah, that's what you young farts think. Why do dogs only live ten to fifteen years? You will die at the same age as we do. Perhaps you will find a concoction you can take to give yourself another year or two to spend in an Alzheimer's facility or in cancer care.

Congrats being the exception. You probably also created a trust to ensure your assets are protected and the state will pay your healthcare costs if necessary.

On the other hand, we’ve had years of thread titles like “the average black woman is worth less than a happy meal.”

Just get yourself genetically tested so you can anticipate what disease you will get when you get old. The greatest risk factor for cancer is not ozone or processed food. It is age when the poor immune system can no longer handle the mutations. I assume you are using sunscreen liberally whenever you are on the lake, or taking a run or playing golf.

Let's just euthanize them, then.

Boomers didn't do this, government did. The rage is misplaced and is becoming borderline eldercidal.

With attitudes on Boomers, I would not be surprised if we got a MAiD program rivaling Canada's.

They act like all that wealth accumulation will go to the grave with their parents. What they are really saying is "I'm a greedy m'fer, and I want mine now"

Gen X, long overshadowed by the enormous boomer cohort, are projected to inherit nearly $1.4 trillion per year over the next decade, more than any other group. This windfall comes at a pivotal life stage: Many Gen Xers are “sandwiched” between caring for children and aging parents. Cerulli projects millennials getting $8 billion per year over the next decade. Over the next quarter-century, millennials will get the biggest haul: $45.6 trillion to Gen X’s $39 trillion.

Sheet... My parents and their friends are going to spend it all.

How much of that 1.4 trillion do you think the gen x’ers stuck caring for parents stand to inherit?
