bullshite.

Regardless, your claim was "Mine will live longer than yours. Progress will not stop! And BTW, dogs used to live over 20 years." If you don't pick up on the irony there, I don't know what to tell you.

You sound cantankerous. Try getting laid. You might mellow out a bit.

Figures that Gen X would get screwed again.

I’m a GenXer who is retiring very early because I was smart enough to dump all my money in every tax advantaged account available to me and also a brokerage. The money I get from Boomer family members is just icing on the cake and if I feel like going out and buying a Ferrari or vacation home with it so be it I still have my own money. There is going to be many people in my age group that blow it but I won’t be one of them.

It used to be normal enough for dogs to live for 20 years or more. Now it is unheard off.

Stop poisoning your pets with kible old timer.

Back when Bigfoot, the EasterBunny and Tinkerbell all had dogs?

Dog life expectancy has doubled in the past decades. House cats now live twice as long as their wild counterparts. If you believe differently, post the study.

My biggest issue is like with my grandparents. They’re hoarding every dollar they ever made

But never give anyone anything. No birthday or Christmas money or some inheritance so we can enjoy it now

Instead, they’ve saved all this money to pay $10,000 a month for nursing home care .

Which is crazy, because once the money runs out they can get in Medicaid and stay at the nursing home for free anyway

So instead of people actually enjoying something( my grandparents. Never did they’ve always been miserable and pinched every penny ) , the nursing home will get their money.

These are the sort of people who should not expect family to care for them.

Fine. Keep your money. I'm not coming around to wipe your butt.

Perhaps.
But I'd be reserved about conclusions.
Grandparents who are supposedly boomers? With a grandson totally aware of the mentality driving their decisions? It is possible, but improbable.

Nursing home will take everything you have and when gone, they let you stay free until you die. That's how it works and I think they have to approve admittance based on worth.

An alternative is long term care insurance which is outrageously high in price.

Another alternative is to live in a state sponsored hellhole of an old folks home. Best final alternative is to save your arse off to spend your last years and months in a nice home or have in home care. But don't break a hip and not recover. That will put you in a home for good.
