Even IF they are hiding amongst the civilians (in one of the most densely populated regions of the world) when did it become OK to take out the civilians as well just to get the terrorists? If someone is holding my child hostage and hiding behind them for cover, I would hope that they send in the most accurate snipers to take out the perp and not launch a grenade that would kill them both.

This is an incredibly short-sighted stance.

Hamas (and other Muslim radical groups) have made it a habit of firing on enemies from behind human shields. This cartoon is pretty fricking accurate:

as is this one...

and this one...

etc.

They fire off arms from behind these civilian shields then bitch and whine about "genocide", "you're killing innocent civilians", etc. when their enemies fire back. To use their argument in any sort of justification for urging their opposition to pursue peace is to encourage them to do it more and more often (which is exactly what we've seen over the last couple of decades).

Israel, to its credit, has gone well above and beyond the call of duty by creating and implementing a "roof knocking" protocol to alert civilians in an area where Israel is being attacked from that they are about to be shelled (ie: so they should gtfo).

The other part of this is the misunderstanding of what it would take to snipe these asshats. These aren't people shooting missiles from 100 yards from the border wall. Gaza's width ranges from 3.5 miles to nearly 8 miles wide and is nearly 25 miles long (the world record for longest sniper shot was just over 2 miles, that was likely from a point high on a mountain looking down into an open area). Much of this area is built up with many areas containing a large, dense population housed in tall residential buildings, many of which are well beyond the range of any sniper in the world (much less just the IDF). So not only are they likely firing from outside the limit of most of the world's snipers, but they are definitely doing so from a spot completely shielded from sniper fire.

Since every rational person understands that Hamas' entire tactical scheme is to attack from the shelter of their own women and children's bodies, the OP wants Israel to just surrender because Hamas cracked the code.

When did it become wrong to win a war?

The civilian casualties are Hamas’ fault. None of them would have occurred had they not attacked Israel.

Violence is always terrible and tragic. But one side is fight for more violence. The other is fighting g for less violence. They are not equivalents.

I know there are places outside of the city where there are no buildings to bomb! Pitch a fricking tent, rough it for a while, figure it out! Anything other than sitting in a building waiting for it to explode!!!

What would you do with your family?

Who is the governing party in Gaza?

So when you say "few terrorists" think about who installed Hamas. Granted, not every one is in favor of a ruling Hamas but enough are supporting the terrorist to make them the ruling party

I contend they are saving lives..... IDF solders having to physically go in an take out the Hamas leaders hiding with civilian shields.....

....if it was your some put at risk, you wouldn't hesitate to drop a bomb to take him out instead of sending him it at high risk, only because they hid with civilians.....

and are they really civilians at this point anyways if they are openly supporting and cheering what Hamas did a few weeks ago.....

at som epoint you also become complicit....

In a restrained war, we try not to do that, such as Vietnam, Afghanistan, etc.

But in a war of retribution, it's all on the table. We wiped two Japanese cities off the map in WW2.

And which wars did we win and lose? You should never restrain yourself in war if you want to win.

Hes identifying with the oppressors.

When the Palestinians get new leadership, they will do much better.

Anyone supporting these folks should hope Hamas is destroyed.

How'd you feel about firebombing German cities and Nuking Japanese cities???

and those population didn't even vote in their overlords, the people in Gaza voted these ghouls into office just a few years ago.

Besides, they have been given advance warning to get out of harm's way - a place in souther Gaza has been designated as a safe place for them. That is why Israel has waited this long to initiate the bombing - giving non-combatants time enough to relocate.

Cannot ask for any more that that. Unless you want Israel to just surrender.
