Americans were told that deporting illegals would lead to more jobs for Americans, but it's actually had the opposite effect.
Of course I'm not suggesting that there are fewer jobs because of the deportations, but the correlation is not what people expected.

How? It appears the entire labor force shift including the job loss was due to TPS ending and deportations. Labor force shrank by 257k in a single month
I’d like to see the job numbers for American citizens only
If that went up, then we are trending the right way as Americans get jobs back they lost to immigrants, just slower than deportation rate.
I doubt that’s the case though. I will say job numbers will get interesting over next decade with deportations, AI and boomers retiring. It’s likely not gonna be pretty

So...the unprofessional conclusion I've personally come to is this isn't a good jobs report
It's a shite jobs report. Just like most job reports since Trump 2.0

Wage growth and private spending. If you have net job loss and it is in government jobs and hospitality, and you coincide that with wage growth that should tell you some things about the economy.

Actually the GDP is only 1.5% for two reasons. Govt spending less accted for .8% negative Import surge accted for 1.5% negative due to all the chips etc being imported to build out AI. Take out these in the first quarter the GDP grew 1.7, take them out this quarter and GDP grew 3.9% so core growth is pretty darn good and growing. There was also real wage growth in July. This economy is positive and growing, and Americans are taking illegal jobs.
If this had happened or that had happened, and then if that other thing you mentioned had happened, the economy would be awesome.
All of that doesn’t change the simple reality that when over half of your growth is because of a single slice of the economy, that typically means the economy is in a precarious situation.
But I am sure it will be awesome when government starts spending more money and this new round of tariffs kick in to restrict cheaper imports.

Just this week, we received news that the NFA will likely be struck down because Trump and the Republicans removed the tax.
Trump has reduced government significantly, but instead of being glad, you cry about it in these job threads.
Why do you people always have to pretend that nothing good is happening?
All you losers do is focus on the negative. Every time something good happens, you acknowledge it in a single thread and then immediately pretend as if it didn't happen from that point forward.
That's why I hate TDS so much. It turns people into whiny morons who can't accept reality. It's so fricking exhausting.

Not to mention... those results likely also present a somewhat more optimistic picture than current conditions, especially since energy prices have risen again after renewed tensions in Iran.

Your heroes Barack Obama and Joe Biden often bragged about how many jobs they "saved" and you bought it hook line and sinker.
