Well, the judge worked with Comey and is a Biden appointee They probably know the case is gonna end up getting thrown out and redone, so they're just putting some crappy lawyers in on the front end and keeping their powder dry so that when this whole thing gets taken around the corner for the second round, then they can finally put somebody in who's going to make a difference with a Judge who's actually going to make a difference.

From the DOJ actions so far I'm convinced there won't be a second chance to nail Comey. This case is either going to be dismissed with prejudice before trial or the DOJ is going to get boat raced at trial in January.

The answer is simple: the control of government by the Trump administration is a mile wide and an inch deep.

You might be on to something there. Maybe the control is so shallow that losing just one person, Emil Bove, to the federal bench is making a big difference.

Pam Bondi can’t get the job done. The evidence mounts everyday. She is either incompetent or she is a corrupt rino.

You don’t send c team to handle a case like this. She also isn’t serious since she had one of her attorneys let a transtifia take a plea deal to basically nothing and dropped serious charges.

Trump needs to tell Bondi no more stupid shite or fire her arse and get someone competent in her place.

They have no case that will result in a conviction, and they know it. That’s the most logical explanation.

I just don't understand the staffing decision by the Trump DOJ.

Because it’s all professional wrestling for the masses. Hillary Clinton was never going to be locked up. Donald Trump was never going to be locked up. Barack Obama will never be locked up. James Comey will never be locked up.

What is the advantage to Trump and the MAGA movement to not put people who want to advance their policies into the various agencies?

He’s being subverted yet again.

That's what I don't understand. This case is going to be a blueprint for cases down the line.

The defense is going to file a motion within two weeks for vindictive prosecution based on President Trump’s remarks about how Comey should be prosecuted. The ruling on that motion will be a big deal one way or the other, because President Trump has been so open in calling for prosecution of his enemies. Why have your C team fight that battle?

There will also be a motion to dismiss the case because (the defense alleges) that Halligan wasn't properly appointed as US attorney...and, therefore, the indictment was improper. Granting that motion might be the best outcome for the DOJ.

Comey is no doubt a pretentious, evil prick who tried to sabotage President Trump. I guess the 2022 testimony about his 2017 actions was the only thing they could find that wasn't beyond the statute of limitations.

I don’t know enough about the law to say, but the experts I read have been saying all along that the case against Comey is as weak as the case against Trump for business fraud. Not every evil act is a crime. And not every crime is provable. We can’t prove what someone’s intentions were even when it’s fairly obvious.

The weak prosecution team is supposedly due to the seasoned prosecutors not wanting a case that will be notable for its failure.

Which facts though? From the indictment, we don't even know who the person is that Comey allegedly authorized to give leaks.

Pretty rich irony given Cannon’s ruling on Jack Smith

They even put that in writing in a declination memo. I imagine that will be Exhibit A in the motion to dismiss.

AG Bill Barr refused to bring charges and now Blondi & Patel didn't clean up and we have a hornets nest.

If the democrats squeeze back in for a hot minute they want us all dead. They want us California. They want us and America to not be.

There is early voting right now. Who will bother in the cold rust belt to vote in midterms? The blue hairs. MAGA have had it fighting over muh Epstein seeing no justice. They will impeach with Speaker Hakeem and the GOP will say aw shucks but oh well.

Oh look, another Trump bimbo, one of his former personal attorneys.

Yeah, this is a coordinated nosedive and when the prosecution loses, it will make Comey look like a hero. Comey.

That's one of the reasons this case calls for the best lawyers the Trump Administration could find. Then again maybe more experienced lawyers didn't want to risk their careers on this.

We've had 9-10 years of Trump in THE spotlight and there's no reason to believe anything but this. That doesn't mean things can't change tomorrow and I'd love for Comey to break the streak, but until then I expect the historical pattern to continue.

Yet another reason not to trust Pam Bondi.
She’s clearly a lightweight operating in a time where no nonsense people like Tom Homan should be in charge.
I feel confident she will screw things up royally.
