So there is video of him at the construction site? Somehow I missed this part of the story.
Gee. Imagine that. It's almost like the media is spinning a narrative and leaving out key facts. This is why a person's innocence or guilt shouldn't be decided in the 24-hour news cycle. It's dangerous for all parties involved.
Take this to trial and determine their guilt or innocence in a court of law.

Lolz. The media has made the account of the surveillance video part of the public record. No one is hiding it. It’s also not a video of a burglary.

Chased a kid down with guns. They had not observed the kid break any law. Kid was unarmed and they shot him.
They should go to jail for a long time.
You cannot have this kind of vigilantes running around.
Honestly not even sure you should call the cops for this unless you see a crime committed or have knowledge that a crime was committed in the past by the individual for which he has not been held for account. Even then you can’t chase down an unarmed man, create a confrontation and then shoot him in the street.

i used to do the same as a kid in old Metairie. Can you even imagine the threat I posed. What a thug!!

The video of the victim running missed a most important part. When the first shot was fired, the camera was pointing off to the side and down. Then we see the two fighting over the gun and some punches thrown after the camera comes back up. The image was too fuzzy to see exactly what was going on.
The father in the pickup is an ex-cop.
The video on the phone will be HD not the shrunken and compressed stuff posted on the Internet.
Time will tell.

If Ahmaud was jogging a lot I don't doubt he was familiar to the the dad and son. They lived less than 2 miles apart.

Well, I did take the word of the property owner who had the video. If you can think of a reason for him to lie, I’m all ears.

Ahmaud Arbery was a petty criminal who happened to be black.
Irrelevant.
quote:
He was stopped by two neighborhood white guys in an attempt to detain him until the police could get there.
Not their purview without direct knowledge of a crime being committed. Even still, you don't chase someone running, or lie in wait brandishing arms.
quote:
Arbery initiated an attempted assault directed at the son. The son was forced to use deadly force to defend himself.
The son sought out and initiated the contact.
What in the hell

I thought this was going to be the case. It makes sense that someone who knew this guy's history would stop him if he saw him running through their neighborhood.
This is pure fricking stupidity. The guy also had a shoplifting arrest on his record. That doesn't mean that Walmart and Publix get to stop him every time he goes into a fricking store. AT frickING GUNPOINT.
The only thing that makes sense is that this is the typical behavior you would expect from fricktard rednecks.
Some of you people literally have shite for brains.

It’s also a smaller town and he was apparently a good football player in HS.
It’s likely they at least knew of him.

Absolutely nobody should die like that, but Arbery continually made bad choices in his life.
You want to see some "bad choices"?
This is the officers statement he took from Gregory McMichael the day of the shooting.
quote:
McMichael stated he and Travis got in the truck and drove down Satilla Drive toward Burford Drive. McMichael stated when they arrived at the intersection of Satilla Drive and Holmes Drive, they saw the unidentified male running down Burford drive. McMichael then stated Travis drive down Burford and attempted to cut off the male. McMichael stated the unidentified male turned around and began running back the direction from which he came and "Roddy" attempted to block him which was unsuccessful. McMichael stated he then jumped into the bed of the truck and he and Travis continued to Holmes in an attempt to intercept him.
McMichael stated they saw the unidentified male and shouted "stop, stop, we want to talk to you". McMichael stated they pulled up beside the male and shouted stop again at which time Travis exited the truck with the shotgun. McMichael stated the unidentified male began to violently attack Travis and the two men started fighting over the shotgun at which point Travis fired a shot and then a second later there was a second shot. McMichael stated the male fell face down on the pavement with his hand under his body. McMichael stated he rolled the man over to see if the male had a weapon.
This is a series of bad choices by the neighborhood posse.

And in Georgia, trespassing is a misdemeanor and misdemeanors aren’t justifications for citizens arrest.
Trespassing with intent to steal is, there’s the rub.
Guess Ahmaud is an admirer of suburban contractor grade architecture in his spare time.

Wow. And we have people who say they have seen him jog regularly on Fancy Bluff. From his house, US 17 is less than a mile away. It is easy to see why he was jogging in Satilla.

Bad choices and lying to police. Sounds like criminals to me.

Again, what was stolen, and why does the official documentation take so little interest in those items?
