Are you aware Arbery was caught on video burglarizing a home in the neighborhood?

Where is this video? If it was shown to the public, it should be out there.

How are we certain that was him in assumed video? Why wasn't there a warrant for his arrest?

Sounds like BS to me.

His mom confirmed it was him on the video at the construction site. Whether he was actually doing something nefarious or not is unknown.

That's the first I've heard about video of him burglarizing a home. I read there was a 911 call from someone else about someone in a home that was under construction, but haven't seen anything about video of anyone burglarizing a home. Would like to see that.

So there is video of him at the construction site? Somehow I missed this part of the story.

You are why conservatives are painted as “racists”.

......and you soi boys always play the race card. Ahmaud Arbery was a petty criminal who happened to be black. He was stopped by two neighborhood white guys in an attempt to detain him until the police could get there. These two white guys were familiar with Arbery. He had a history of weapons possession having been arrested for possession of a weapon while attending High School. He escaped jail time because it was his first offense.

Unfortunately during this incident Arbery initiated an attempted assault directed at the son. The son was forced to use deadly force to defend himself. There was a third guy doing video of the incident on his iphone. If these guys intended on doing an "on-site execution" like some assert, why in the world would they video the incident? I believe the evidence will show that.

Now you go right ahead and howl racism.

Late to the party here, but I never believed he was just "jogging". Comparable to the tired old narrative "he was a good boy, about to go to college". Even if he was on a bunch of video burglarizing, the law should have been called. Those baws screwed up.

So he just assumed the guilt of Arbery without any actual physical evidence? That would be idiotic.

Yes there is video but it's not public. The cops have and showed it to his mom and she identified Ahmaud. From what I understand the house under construction is open so anyone can walk through it.

If you want to claim the statute in the da's memo are fabricated, please let me know and I’ll retract. I didn’t realize those statutes were in question.

However, you can’t allow for citizens arrest and not expect force to ever be necessary just like you can’t allow a cop to arrest people and force to never be necessary. That makes no sense.

It doesn’t change the fact that two regular guys (not cops) chased a guy down in the street with loaded weapons and eventually that guy caught a shotgun blast to the chest.

I agree. no matter how shitty Ahmaud is... there's no need for something like this to happen unless he was a clear and present danger at that moment

In Georgia an unoccupied dwelling is still a dwelling.

It’s probably the least important part of the story. Who care if he was mulling about a construction site prior to his execution.

Is that the justification to confront a man by two armed idiots?! He was seen walking around a construction site.

And in Georgia, trespassing is a misdemeanor and misdemeanors aren’t justifications for citizens arrest.

He’s a thug based on an 8 year old weapons charge and a shoplifting charge? We are really downgrading the meaning of the word thug. Even for this board.

Allowing both a stand your ground and citizens arrest in the same instance means a person with a gun has carte blanche authority to initiate violence and end the fight “in self defense.” That’s probably not going to be a strong legal argument. “I can point a gun at someone and then shoot them if they come towards me in self defense.”

My dad and I used to pop into houses under construction all the time while on bike rides NOT in our immediate neighborhood. Glad these Barney Fife and Officer Doofy neckbeard fricks weren't around to protect and serve
