I'll even give you this one, it's not fair to cherry-pick or shorten a quote to make an argument. But quoting the entire statement doesn't suddenly make it complete. You're still ignoring the rest of Talarico's record on immigration, ICE, and border enforcement, which provides the context that actually matters.

That’s the only reason I responded. Accurate reporting matters. It has nothing to do with any rooting interest in any side of any issue. I’m not ignoring anything. How can I ignore something that I’ve already made clear that I don’t know?
I don’t know a lot about this specific politician’s issues. He won’t be on my ballot in November. But I do remember seeing where this same quote was cut off in other situations. Maybe in an ad somewhere. I don’t remember. But it is not my job or responsibility to know his stance on this issue unless I am making an argument about it. I do think, however, it’s the responsibility of the author of the post to include the complete information.

Yeah, but acting like it doesn’t give it more context is asinine as well.
Liberals get mad at Talarico for saying Biden failed us at our southern border. Conservatives get mad at him for saying our border should be like our front door, with the welcome mat out front but a lock on the door.

None of that matters if Democrats do not enforce border security when they are in power. Biden trumpeted “more resources” for border patrol in his bill that wasn’t passed. Too bad he let 20 million people cross before his bill failed.

Our state GOP is nothing more than a good ole’ boys club. Money buys power in this state because we’re one of the only states that have zero caps on how much donation money politicians can get.
If the fact that we have a fricking statue made after George Bush isn’t any more of an indicator, then I don’t know what is.

think this through. as i said earlier, walk like a duck, talk like a duck.....up until the election he's held no moderate positions or stances. But now, facing an election against a staunch conservative in Texas, he's all of the sudden tough on immigration?
Do you not remember Biden during his 2020 presidential campaign? "Friendly Moderate Uncle Joe" Then what happened once in power? Wasn't a single policy implemented remotely moderate.
Do not fall for that shite.

I believe it was pretty apparent at the time this happened that Paxton was doing Campbell’s bidding due to campaign contributions. That is the only reason Paxton would have been inclined to step into that mess.
