I remember when that used to be a thing in N. Mississippi (Oxford and Starkvegas).

Two Republican lawmakers

Just cannot get out of their own way... Kinda like the GOP lawmakers in AL opposing a gambling bill being put before the voters...

i am not a fan of it, butt .....

it should make a big difference in driving with a cold brewsky on the way home

for that reason, i can see this making sense as to support.

in reality, everyone will buy room temperature beer and bag of ice for the ice chest they keep in the car and it wont make a damn bit of difference for safety

I guess this is a way to spur sales of foreign beer because no one is drinking the domestic stuff at room temperature.

Cane the pricks drinking and driving, don't punish everyone with bullshite government overreach that can be countered with a God damn 10 dollar ice chest and a 3 dollar bag of ice.

How many people pick up a cold beer at the store and before they get home are so drunk they're a danger to society?

Wouldn't they already be pretty much wasted before they even bought that cold beer.

I could also see this working in DT Nashville:

quote:

He said the idea would be to place a cap on how much a patron could drink to two mixed drinks, two glasses of wine, or up to three beers. If anyone wanted to drink more, they w patrons would need to have a designated driver or means to alternative transportation from restaurant, bar or other venue.

A grown assed man or a Lesbionic woman should be able to pop a top in a beer at 5 on friday.

Tenn is one of those states that is screwed up that they dont allow sales of beer and Wine/spirts in the same venue. At least they didnt when I lived up that way and for a long time after...

That went away about 10 years ago when grocery stores started selling wine. Liquor stores sell beer now
