wonder how HPD and the city would have handled if not for the world cup.
You know how. Just like you’ll see LA become suddenly pristine for the Olympics.

500 people doesn't sound like a high number of people for a 12 acre public park.
It does if they are acting like a donkey mob.
How much you want to bet they were?

12 acre public park.
Discovery Green is unique. I don't consider is a park per se, its right in the heart of downtown, next to the convention center, hotels, and corp offices
Its more of a public space for small events than a "park". Guarantee they weren't just sitting on the benches and chatting. Would bet they were going into the hotels right next door and shutting down the roads that go around it.

It’s entertaining how stupid white liberals are, they live in dog shite filthy cities, that only manage to control the bullshite when an event is in town. They cheer it on like retard seals. You would think your tax dollars would be worth a safe city all the time not just when the World Cup or Super Bowl is in.

Why were they dispersing the crowd? 500 people doesn't sound like a high number of people for a 12 acre public park. Was it closed?
Because male minority teens in particular have zero impulse control which makes them particularly dangerous. Better to disperse them before someone gets killed than after.

More like Police disrespeck a crowd of 500+ teens, amirite?
Police ain’t know what it is to be black in America.

The police just don’t understand these black teens boundaries because some tribe in the 1700s sold them to English and Dutch who then sold them to a southern planter.

To respect the Moderators Pride Month, i will not say anything racial.

Shame just doesn’t work in our modern society when the majority don’t ever feel it and instead feel entitled by it in order to justify acting like animals. One demographic in general has taken this route as a license to cause consistent chaos bc of a lack of real consequences. Bring back heavy handed broken window policing.

It's OTAY to do so..it's just the truth. I lived in downtown Houston for 6 years until I moved to the beach.
The place was great until James Harden the Basketball player, opened his club called "13" in 2021.
Then the entire area of downtown, midtown turned into a gang bang warfare...every violent crime statistic went up.
Guess what happened...in 2025 he was evicted for not paying over $2.2 million in back rent. He claimed COVID prevented him from paying rent. Harden the gazillionaire couldn't pay rent.
These days, Midtown and Downtown are ghost towns after happy hours. What a suprise...

No, they were dispersing them prior to the shots being fired.
Let's be real. We all know at some point, shots would have been fired. Cops just sped that up and everybody went home a little earlier.

I moved to Houston in 2019 and remember downtown being the place to go for white collar workers and grad school types on Friday after work. After COVID has been a different story. We walked to Main after an Astros game a few years ago and it was much different than I remembered. Walked by Deans and there was a bouncer using a metal detector and mumble rap blaring. No thanks.

Because they know what happens when these 'teens' are allowed to hang around too long. It should have never even gotten to 100 people before the cops stepped in. It got to 500 and look what happened. They started shooting..with the cops there!
