Im not saying the teacher's two unions are evil but the largest security detail f any member of Trump's cabinet was Betsy DeVos.

She needn’t be forlorn, as AI Chips will easily ’fix’ these underperforming individuals. Real DEI should be cake ten years hence. Not kidding! Many will take that Transhumanist leap.

I taught in the inner city schools of (b)aton (r)ouge for 22 years.

During my first week of teaching I caught several students coming to school in the morning drunk. Brought them to the office and the principal did nothing. She sent them on their merry way.

At that time I would say that about 50 % of the children could read.

2 years later I discovered that the students could read the words but they could not tell what a sentence meant.

Each year the administration would implement a new curriculum/strategy to enable the children to be able to read more proficiently. Results were not worth noting. The kids didn't really care. I would routinely ask what their future plans were. Here are some of their replies:

Drive a dump truck
Work at Taco Bell
Work at Popeyes
Be a lunch lady
work at the hospital
sling dope
be a gangsta
be a rapper
play in the NFL or NBA

I don't think many people understand the LEAP scores.
EBR parish routinely scores about an average of 35 in ELA and the administration calls that 'passing'. That's 35 out of a 100. Abysmal .

During the second to last year that I taught our school had 12 teachers that flat out quit during October. The school was quickly becoming 'Fight Club'. I taught one more year and I said enough.

Now I shock people by stating that all public education should be terminated. We are wasting money. Makes all school private/ religious and stop taxing people for public ed. .

Now I work in construction.

Bless that teacher for trying, but unless something changes with the family structure, it will continue. That means a mother who nurtures and a father that will whip that arse when you get out of line.

As another poster said, it will never get better.

We had The Great Society, which incentivized fatherless households.
Then, The War on Drugs and the CIA moving crack into the inner cities, ensured black men went to prison.
Then, No Child Left Behind ensured that we would dumb down the education system.

And now we're on our fourth generation of black kids growing up without fathers.

If the above was intentional, it would be sinister.
Or maybe the road to hell was paved with good intentions.
Regardless, it will never get better.

Granted I'm not for big government, but is this a department where only a few consequential people can change things? Or is that possible.. I don't think it is. I think it's more on lazy parents, but the culture of educational necessity itself seems to have eroded.

Yeah that's a huge blow as soon as schools stopped mandating cursive just promoted a lack of discipline and patience. So when curriculum softened up that played a part in it, too. I'm starting to think all parties at least played a hand in where we're at.

There is a sizable % of white kids that fall into the category as well. Seniors in high school who can read or write at an elementary level, and they have pre diabetes to go with it. That's why companies are screaming for immigrants. Its not a matter of paying more. Between 25% and 35% of our young people are useless.

I'm told that the students would very much like to write a letter of apology to the teacher, but, unfortunately, they cannot write.

I want to care but he sort of said it best at the end...

"Our young black and brown girls and boys."

Black teachers and mothers raised them in blue districts littered with black and brown politicians and school administrators.

They are yours to handle. Its tragic but your community has to step it up.

My thoughts are let a very strict criminal justice system sort out the troublemakers because society shouldn't have to deal with these failures of the black and brown community, preferably young enough to prevent them from spawning more violent offenders and hopefully begin to break the cycle.

I don't think you understand his logic if that's your conclusion.

What he's saying is that you could pay teachers $8 million dollars a year and get all distinguished multiple PhDs, and it wouldn't make any difference.

And he's right.

This x1000

Give the best chef in the world a pile of chicken shite and he won't be able to turn it into an acceptable meal. Its chicken shite. He needs real ingredients to work with.

Most of these kids are single mother raised do-nothings with no work ethic, self accountability, or impulse control.

They literally live life by whatever feels best for the here and now with no thought for the future. Why study or work for tomorrow when you can just be lazy today? And progressives can't throw enough money at them so they're never really going to feel the repercussions of their laziness (they'll always have a free roof, healthcare, food, electricity, etc.).

Chicken shite from top to bottom.

He’s probably trying to get the mommas to be more involved in their children’s education.
