They're all f'n stupid. And to make matters worse, they don't care that they're stupid. I noticed this a fews years ago. They are not curious, about anything. They're not interested in learning history. So, they don't repeat past mistakes. They don't give a shite about anything of importance. They don't want to learn basic common sense tasks. They're more interested in Insta, Tik Tok, and whatever else the phone throws at them. They know more about Khloe Kardashian's butthole, then they ever will about George Washington, or financial literacy. We're doomed as a society. I have no idea how long that'll take, but we're f*cked.

My nephew who is white was helping me repair something and I asked him to read some instructions to refresh myself with the steps. He was 10th or 11th grade.
He hesitated at first and when he started I was stunned. It was halted and unsteady. I thought he was kidding with me at first. He wasn't. When we finished I called my sister and was like wtf! He can't read I said. She somewhat dismissed it.
If you can't read you can't do shite, or very little. My sister has a degree as does her daughter. It's sad how bad society has gotten.

This is the crux of the issue. Accountability is everything in life. If there are no consequences, there is no progress. It is as simple as that. When they fail, the welfare system kicks in. This will never improve until people suffer the consequences of their actions and decisions. I hate it for the children.

AL had a graduation exam you had to pass starting in the 1980's.

By your logic, paying teachers pennies on the dollar would really attract the best and brightest to a job no one wants. I love the “anti teacher raises guy” lol you are welcome to trade careers. You couldn’t pay me 200k to be a teacher today

Nothing surprising about this. They have whole senior classes with 33% literacy rates and 95% getting a diploma.

I think most children need to have a fear of harsh consequences to behave or learn. Fear and shame worked for me. Kids don’t have that anymore. For the last 30 years we let feeling lead our society instead of logic.
