Video of the 2nd explosion

Holy shite

Probably the first and second explosions/attacks of many to come too.

Crazy how accurate the intel was saying that an attack was imminent down to the day, but we sat back and ignored the intel that got us into this whole mess.

This just proves without a doubt that we have insanely accurate intel guys on the ground, no more "we didn't know Kabul would fall this fast" bullshite should be accepted.

Uh Kabul is UTC +4:30.

It is currently 7:43pm. Given Kabul's latitude is roughly that of Oklahoma's sunset would be around 20:00.

There isn't that much of a lag.

Last night I saw that Reuters had a stream from a distance. I don't know if it is still up. Check Reuters via the Twitter broadcast thing.

Providing basic human rights to hundreds of thousands of people isn't for nothing.

Lol. That is never the basis for war or occupation. Afghanistan was a money-laundering venture for the American political class. American taxpayers have spent over $2 trillion in that hellhole the last 20 years. How much of that do you think was laundered back to the pockets of politicians, lobbyists, defense contractors and their families?

Take it with a grain of salt since it’s Charlie Kirk, but this is what he’s saying:

quote:

Very preliminary report—But reliable sources familiar with the situation on the ground in Afghanistan are telling my team that four US Marines were killed in bombing outside of the Kabul Airport. Again, this is preliminary, but horrific if confirmed. Pray.

Do you think people are just going to sit quietly as they see Americans heads roll on YouTube and the 20th Anniversary comes around on why that happened?
As long as free rent, cush unemployment, free groceries, and a monthly check for each kid for pocket money keep rolling in.... probably.

So was this a mostly friendly suicide bombing or mostly peaceful?

I am having a difficult time keeping up.

You're arguing against air.

I just said it wasn't all for nothing and gave reasons why. Some good things came out of it, which doesn't mean only good things came out of it or all intentions were ethical.

Coworker told me the Taliban and ISIS are big time enemies, but these bombings are suspected ISIS?

Yes, the bombings are suspected ISIS-K, a particular group that claims affiliation with ISIS. The security report that came out yesterday and halted all Westerners from traveling to the airport was due to a threat from this group.

No, the Taliban and ISIS do not "get along". However, we are witnessing the beginnings of a power vacuum in Afghanistan. Every terrorist organization in that part of the world has been essentially laying low waiting for this. Before our arrival to the country, Afghanistan had always been a breeding ground for terrorism and terrorist groups. It is now returning to its natural order. I believe it will be worse than it was pre-9/11.

ISIS-K may or may not have acted alone in this. They may or may not have had the clearance from the Taliban to do this. Anything is possible with the way this has all been handled.

Biden doesn't even have the guts to take questions from reporters.

You honestly think he gives two shits about american casualties?
