I am not sure what a garners is unless you misspelled farmer but farmers get $$$ from the gov't to not put land into crops.
Around here (Iowa) they get a brand new pickup every year so they are not hurting. Their work load is roughly 2 weeks in the spring to put the crop in and about the same t...

My suggestion: Not unload any of those ships off the coast and send them back full of their own crappy junk.
Most farmers have storage for the crop and they can store it.
Start manufacturing back up here to make better goods than foreign crap....

While I am sympathetic, it is their problem. We can't be expected to feed the entire world; especially countries who hate us and want us exterminated.

There are people who adopt dogs who are old and losing their long time home for whatever time they have left.
I have done it 4 times in the last 12 years and am looking into another dog now. The dogs are my family.
OP, don't dump your poor dog in a kill shelter; find a loving home for her/him...

He is right.
