You’re saying if the Taliban brought down an aircraft carrying evacuating civilians that Biden, or any other nation, would not be completely obligated to launch a full retaliatory attack on them?

If there remain thousands of additional Americans who are essentially hostages in country, it would give a little pause, would it not?

Hopefully the Israelis found a warehouse with US military equipment.

I’d be curious to know if there are any “special forces” getting shite done across the entire country right now.

The Pentagon didn't even know that the airport gates had been closed and the Embassy had warned Americans not to come to the airport. Video of press briefing earlier today at the link:

In keeping with the FUBAR dynamic… a deeper, perhaps more concerning, picture is emerging.  The Pentagon held a press briefing today with Defense Department spokesperson John Kirby and Maj. General Hank Taylor.  After initial comments the first question was about the State Department telling Americans not to attempt to come to the airport.  Kirby and Taylor did not know about it.

Defense Department Spokesperson John Kirby was put in a very uncomfortable position of answering questions about a State Department alert he was not knowledgeable about.

We had reports yesterday of people being evacuated outside of Kabul.

Obligated?

Biden would do absolutely nothing.

Biden would say it was in the calculus. We expected our pilots to fly into the path of a few Taliban missiles. But we still have to investigate those pilots for bad airmanship.

Also in this briefing John Kirby said "No." to the question of if there had been any other air-lift operations outside of the airport like the 169 person lift we saw reports of yesterday.

No, not if they killed dozens or 100s of Americans in one shot.

Trump is doing a rally tonight, and I really want him to say the following, and I hope it gets to him (Glenn Beck is desperately trying to get him to say it):

quote:

I want to tell the Taliban one thing and one thing only: if I decide to run for President in 2024 and you kill a single American, in my first week in office, I will ground you all to powder.

Austin making moves…

The military is working on alternative ways to get Americans, Afghans, and third-country nationals safely to the airport. "We are executing an alternate path,” a defense official said.

***

Interesting use of the word "executing" ... present tense ... probably just more B.S. and CYA, but if the choice is Austin's plan versus Biden's plan, I guess we go with Austin at this point? Who f*cking knows.

Just a note, no real new info. We first saw rumors of "friction" between our Troops/Command and UK SAS troops going outside the airport a couple days ago. Those rumors were reported as rumors, and primarily by non-MSM outlets.

What we have seen today is several major outlets pick up that story, and report that it was a "US General" in command at the airport who "ordered" SAS to stop running those missions because, "They were embarrassing the US."

Whether it proves true or not, having major outlets run those reports is not a good thing.

No it wouldn’t. IF Biden didn’t act on that, the decision would be taken out of his hands.

I had to laugh at readoutgate last night. That slimy little French prick is probably praying for the return of Trump. The left thought Trump was going to start a war yet he called out his allies for "not paying their fair share" (you'd think the left would be the first on board with that direction) and amongst other things met with the pudgy little NK dictator multiple times (including having the brass to stop for in NK.

Trump was rolling towards reelection until the China Flu. With how this has played out I wouldn't be surprised if they deliberately released it on the western world. They now have access to Afghan natural resources and has given Biden the finger over Taiwan. They've also taken everyone's focus off of what they've done to Hong Kong.

Get as many people as you can get out, get the military completely out and then turn that sandbox into glass. It would be far more merciful to the Afghan people than the life they are facing under those savage fricks.
