No offense but you Dad is naive. Obama is still running the show. He told us he was going to fundamentally charge America and we are seeing it start to come to fruition.

Just a note, no real new info
Ive noticed the pace of news has slowed dramatically in the last 24 hours. Might be that journalists have been evacuated. Also that Taliban are taking cell phones and Afghans are deleting social media

So.....if you're keeping score at home:

All in the span of 36ish hours.

President Joe Biden has met with his national security team to discuss the chaotic situation in Afghanistan after cancelling his weekend trip home to Delaware.

Biden spoke with his team at the White House Situation Room about the ongoing evacuation efforts, counterterrorism operations, and intensive diplomatic efforts to finalize agreements with a third-party country transit hub to help American, who were warned on Saturday not to travel to Kabul airport.
Biden discussed the matters with Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Mark Milley, National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan and National Intelligence Director Avril Haines.
Vice President Kamala Harris joined the meeting by video teleconference during her trip to Singapore.

It has slowed every night (their night). We are still seeing video and other reports. It also helps that ol' Joe hasn't been allowed to officially lie to the people today.

I've seen two different people tweet this out in the last few minutes:

The State Department has been hit by a cyber attack, and notifications of a possible serious breach were made by the Department of Defense Cyber Command.
I'm sure the Biden Administration is negotiating with the Ransomware hackers as we speak to get all of our data back,

n Kirby said "No." to the question of if there had been any other air-lift operations outside of the airport like the 169 person lift we saw reports of yesterday
I missed it. What was behind this? Private contractors?

Nearly Empty U.S. Flights Leave Kabul as Biden Abandons Americans
quote:
Many planes are reportedly leaving Afghanistan nearly empty while private organizations are begging the U.S. government, to no avail, to let them charter private flights to airlift more American citizens and Afghans who assisted the U.S. mission.
Major General William “Hank” Taylor, the deputy director of the Joints Chiefs of Staff, said Thursday that while the military has the capacity to move between 5,000 and 9,000 people per day, only 2,000 were moved in a 24-hour period. Breitbart News reported that C-17 Globemaster planes, capable of comfortably fitting 300 people, took only around 110 people each on 18 flights that evacuated 2,000 people from the country.
“That doesn’t mean… just because you have 5,000 seats that you can automatically fill 5,000 seats every day,” Pentagon press secretary John Kirby said during a Thursday press briefing.
The issue apparently is not about lack of transport, but about convincing governments to allow Afghan people and foreign nationals on a plane to fly into their respective countries and speed up the paperwork to do so.

Obviously ihometiger knew just how fricked up the situation was on the ground in Afghanistan with the US Govt because there is no way he wouldn't pull some Rambo stunt unless there were absolutely no options left on the table to get his friends out. You don't leave your life of luxury, wife, and children behind unless you are out of options. I have not heard from him but am hoping we will hear something from him this week god willing.

Well Biden't evacuation plan with the Taliban said our planes would arrive/depart within a one hour time frame.
Anyone report on here yet that the Taliban have started burning US Citizens passports outside the airport yet?

The US Gov't can't comment on private contractors but with the state department now down due the cyber attack it makes the contractors jobs so much harder to get people out without documentation once they get out of Afghanistan.

Yeah, that report came out immediately following the IS threat report that closed the airport gates.
Sounds like I missed a lot today.

shite, literally anywhere else in the world except maybe Iran and North Korea would be a better place to wait while documentation gets sorted out.
I'd fricking live in the international terminal of the Kazakhstan airport eating crackers and ketchup like Tom Hanks in The Terminal while waiting for the State Department to catch up if it meant not being stuck in fricking Kabul anymore.

Ahmad Massoud is the biggest threat to Russia and China's long term interests in Afghanistan. The Taliban likely prevented us from Afghan minerals. Massoud is to Russian and China what the Taliban was to us
