Biden achieves near-Trumpian negligence here. But unlike Trump, whose reputation among his fans was magically shielded from earthly damage, Biden can't get away with being a callous moron in an emergency—and he shouldn't. This is all just sickening.
Seriously? He described this cluster copulation as near Trumpian? He truly has trump derangement syndrome.
OMLandshark, I don’t think the rank and file democrat is turning on Biden like you hoped they would. It was 4 days of intense media scrutiny and already I’m seeing MSNBC, CNN, and others pivot to the republicans are racist for not allowing in millions of Afghan refugees and cease talking about the actual situation on the ground.

I wonder if they back off the pressure on the administration, now.
Yep

But aside from the top 0.1% and leaches that refuse to work, how can anyone possibly be happy with this administration?
Because they are uninformed. I'd wager if you talked to the majority of people about any one of those topics, they would have no idea what you're talking about.

Is that not something we can do for our people in Afghanistan now?
The Brits were able to do it when they successfully rescued Lord Miles the Mad Lad. It in inexcusable that our government told Americans to shelter in place in Kabul and is now leaving them on their own to make their way to the airport.

What does wearing a uniform have anything to do with it?
Perhaps you meant unINformed?

US should have been trading protection for rights to their rare Earth minerals.
Then we wouldn't have to worry about China, as much.
This bothers me. We could’ve been mining their minerals with the goal of “we help you mine them, we buy them, and your country prospers”
I’m guessing we didn’t to avoid the “no blood for minerals” bullshite from the Left. Now China, who has no qualms about working with the Taliban, will do the same thing

For sure. Also, not leaving in the dead of night and cutting them off at the knees in the process would have also gone a long way to supporting the Afghan Govt and keeping the Taliban at bay.
But what the frick do we know compared to the foreign diplomacy expert, Joe Biden?

This situation could not be any worse. We are essentially trapped in an indefensible airport, we need the runway, we are outnumbered by an emboldened Taliban with foreign fighters on the way, thousands of hostages in Kabul, urban warfare if we choose to engage, and we’ve lost the faith of our allies. I’m afraid this will be the worst thing we see in our lifetimes.
Biden may be faced with a Harry Truman moment

I don’t see the solution to this. We have to change the dynamic in some way to gain any advantage we can to at least get our citizens out. That’s a very tricky proposition and I definitely don’t trust Joe or our military leadership to walk that line after they’ve screwed it up this far.

I hope that’s true, but I don’t think it is.

I think they’re going with money. That will then be financing a new wave of global terrorism. Foreign fighters may not care as much as the Taliban about the safety of our people. I don’t know that they can be controlled, even with bribery.
