I cannot believe we that we are this bad at force projection and protection. There's no way possible without inept leadership.

I think they’re going with money. That will then be financing a new wave of global terrorism. Foreign fighters may not care as much as the Taliban about the safety of our people. I don’t know that they can be controlled, even with bribery.

Money isn’t working. Money has us where we are right now. There has to be a shift. I just don’t know what that is.

It is believable but there were multiple what ifs projected.

The worst came true which was becoming apparent this spring.

It really irratates me when he says "all these scenarios were presented to both Trump and Biden". At the end of Trumps presidency the Taliban controlled very few provinces and none of them were that strategic.

There was a lot of contested area, but the Afghan Army was doing an OK job contesting. Even as late as April/May the map was still pretty much at a status quo.

Then the Biden doctrine started taking hold and nothing was adjusted. It was pull out or bust. Well, we got bust.

Is that not something we can do for our people in Afghanistan now?

When things were getting really bad in Isreal a few years ago my second son and his fiance were there in Magdala. I had some buddies in country ready to do the same thing to them. My son to this day doesn't know he had 24x7 shadow protection within about 1 minute of him at all time.

It can be done, but the volume of people needing pulled is way higher here as is the activity level of those on the other side. Plus the sheer volume of Talib adds a layer of challenge to the issue.

From a military standpoint, this is what happens when a president makes it a priority to make sweeping changes at the top levels in favor of people that align closer to his ideology.

I was thinking of this then read it somewhere…

There will be a Taliban flag flying at the American embassy in Kabul on the 20th anniversary of 9/11!

They'll keep the BLM and queer flags up though, right?

Most people above the rank of O-6 that are involved with these big decisions are nothing more that political appointees who've climbed through the ranks by arse kissing.

For the 95% of us that are solely English readers, would you mind maybe providing some context of the tweet?

I don’t know why I find this so funny but I’m cracking up at the lady stuck outside the airport with armed Taliban surrounding her and she’s wearing a paper face mask.

2 Para is conducting operations and not being bothered by anyone. If the Brits can do it, so can we. This is getting beyond embarrassing.

How much is the media not gonna talk about all the dead Americans that we left in Afghanistan? They run the narrative.

Oh by the way, Joe doesn’t refer to Taiwan as a country and just an island and refers to their conflict with China as a civil war. This is about to end badly:

I’m afraid this will be the worst thing we see in our lifetimes.

Just wait in a few months when China invades Taiwan. Even more people are going to be killed in that, even if it won’t be Americans.

I think the bigger worry is the flow of that transcript. The guy can't complete a full, lucid sentence.

One has to really wonder if the Chinese have so much influence over this idiot that they are actually helping guide his policies.
