The French were decimated by WWI. Which led to their inability to field a formidable army during WWII. Up until that point they were the gold standard. I wouldn't sleep on em, especially since they've seemingly had more brass the last couple years than the US.

It's a sad day when the French are more prepared and have bigger balls than the US. My grandfather would be pissed off if he were still alive!
Historically the French have had pretty big balls. You should study the First World War sometime

He has 7 former employees (all special forces) from Louisiana & Mississippi he personally recruited and brought on who were working security for a women's charity the last few months. ihome is back in Louisiana but is in communications with them trying to help figure a way for them to get out. If anyone can get them out without government support it would be ihome as he and Erik Prince are very close.
I know it’s a stretch, any word on this situation?

Update on ihometiger--he was picked up in New Orleans this morning and is en route to Uzbekistan. Said his group will arrive late Thursday afternoon after making several fuel and supply stops. I knew he was a really good and funny guy but had no idea how connected he is. He called all of his friends wives and told them he was going to bring them all home alive via a private exchange and extraction as they are in contact via a third party with militants in the area their safe house is in. He said anyone over there who thinks the US military is coming to save them is an idiot as everyone is on their own. Please say some prayers for all of them.

.@clarissaward on the scene just outside Kabul airport: "I've covered all sorts of crazy situations. This was mayhem. This was nuts. This was impossible for an ordinary civilian, even if they had their paperwork...There's no coherent system for processing people."

You think it will change the minds of any dem voters? I think it might.
I really don't. Some here seem to think this is the end for Biden. I'm of the belief that he and the democrats will face zero consequences. The media, while scrutinizimg him right now, will move on very quickly and shift blame and attention away.
It will work on democrat voters.

quote:She was on live this morning and surrounded by a group of afghanis. One interrupted her to tell his story. He spoke in very good English and admitted on camera he helped the Americans. He said the Taliban was not allowing them into the airport. He also said the paperwork they are requiring is not possible to attain. There were at least 25 other young men around him that he said were all in the same position. Another man showed that he has a green card and was still denied access to the airport by the Taliban.

Those people are not getting out.
There were also gun shots going off throughout the report. The reporter stated Taliban was shooting into the air to disperse the crowds around the airport.

Not downvoting you, just down voting the situation!

If you guys would just give Joe a couple of weeks or months at the most, he’ll sort this whole thing out. Reports are coming in that Hunter has even volunteered to go to Afghanistan to help with the agricultural taste testing to make sure the Afghan crops are all good

CNN is opening with this, but in the first 5 minutes are flipping to Covid and Haiti.

My thoughts exactly. Those mfers are good at one thing and it is circling the wagons to protect their own.
There will be absolutely zero repercussions for this fiasco for this administration. None.

I'll be very optimistic and say some low level lackey will resign. That's it though.

The media is "credibility building" right now. They're going to tell you how bad it is, they're going to slap Joe's wrist, etc. so that when they go silent on the story in a week and it's "all's well that ends well" they don't have to talk about the fact that Biden left 10,000 Americans behind in Taliban control and only by their own self-interest and sheer fortune did we avoid catastrophic loss of life.
And the middle of the country who is nodding their head at Jake Tapper right now will go "well, Jake was really mad about this so if he's saying it turned out ok I guess it did."
The media isn't on our side. They're on their own side. Even when they're aligned with us it's for another purpose. Ditto for Cuomo, same if they ultimately get Biden not to run, etc. The question to ask is "to what end" and you know the answer to that isn't "because we care about the dignity of the Presidency" or "because Joe Biden let down American citizens."

Sadly, this entire situation will probably be forgotten about by 2024.
