I think this has been handled about as poorly as it could have been.

Limpdicked is an accurate descriptor, and at the same time, it's just not enough.

Gleeful incompetence, maybe.

Wait what about our peace deal we just struck with the Taliban to allow for an orderly evacuation? This doesn't seem to square up with that Dept of Defense deal they executed in Oman.

Wanna know what's the funniest part about Abdul Hamid Hamasi, the Taliban official in the above video?

He is supposed to be dead ??

Back in April, Ghani's regime claimed his death. Except, we knew even back then that he wasn't dead.

This is what happens when you make fake claims every day to show to the world that you're fighting Taliban (when in reality your men are surrendering & defecting)

The Taliban official who Ghani regime claimed was killed is currently in Kabul executing Taliban orders.

"What guys shooting evacuees at the airport? Oh, those guys? Oh yeah, they're not Talib, you'll have to make a separate deal with them."

Of course they want to return the holding the land and power they once did. NATO stands in the way of that, not the US, and the NATO nations have been increasing their defense spending.

NATO and the UN are a joke without real US enforcement of their mission. Faith in US enforcement of their missions just took a major hit

And currently multiple planes that will not fly blocking that runway. Troops are working to get them operational and/or clear the runway.

Taliban: Ok, we will make sure evacuations go smoothly. We will set up checkpoints outside the airport to ensure no one can come pose a threat.

US: Ok, thank you. Here is some money to do it.

Taliban: Not sure if this will work. Do you have more money?

US: Will this work?

Taliban: Yes, that amount will work.

1 runway. We should've kept Bagram open until the evacuations were complete. One of the many mistakes made.

You forgot the next part when they don’t let anyone in or out, and if they find US papers, they’ll be whisked off and summarily executed out of the sight of the US

Al Jazeera just posted a video of people falling from the sky off of USAF planes flying out of the airport (they were hanging on to the plane).

Airport Chaos (with disturbing scene)

PM Trudeau gives press conference on situation

Trudeau said if the airport in Kabul is stable, Canada will send in military planes to evacuate more Afghans. He said the situation on the ground in Afghanistan right now is “extremely fluid” & “exceedingly dangerous”

"Will Canada get more Afghans out? It’s complex. The Kabul airport could be secure tonight, with 6000 US forces expected in place. They would clear the tarmac, runway, planes…but logistics big challenge…"

Not sure how they are handling the people who are "sheltering in place" in Kabul or its suburbs.

This could easily become a black hawk down situation on a massive scale.

I don't know the exact number of folks that need to be moved.

There will be 10K Americans + 7K Troops then you include our allies. It's probably around 20K folks?
