re: Study suggests left wing profs punish conservative students with grades

Unfortunately this starts at the high school level.
I personally know a set of parents that have to "train" their child to get him to make good grades by going along with the liberal thought process set forth by the teacher. That same thought process is reflected on the homework and tests. They tell their son it's his job to make good grades and then they can discuss it at home more in depth.
This is at Dutchtown High School FWIW

This happened to me at LSU with one of my professors back in 2016. She was a real count to deal with but I got the last laugh with Trump

Further proof that Leftists have the emotional maturity and stability of a 13 year old girl

Yea...think we all knew this already lol
I got kicked out of classes twice. Ethics I was kicked perm from the class for my constant back and forth with the liberal professor. Guy was exactly what you think. Baggy denim shirts or weird old thrift store button up sweaters, nerdy glasses, long unkempt hair. Just a complete and utter pussy. He graded my paper on diversities statistical problems as a zero. Nothing I could do...either buy in or fail.

In HS a teacher told me she'd give me an F if I wrote a paper on the theory of evolution because she didn't believe in it but not if I wrote it on life of Darwin, which I did.

This was true back in '94 when Clinton was President, so I can only imagine how bad it is now. I wrote a paper for English class that was a subtle jab at Willy. The Prof wore her saxophone pin on her lapel every day. She gave me a C, and she said if it weren't so argumentative it would've been an A
It was an argumentative paper by assignment
I also believe the "C" was not chosen by accident ("C"linton). I made my statement, she made hers.
I hold this as a badge of honor to this day. That gal got triggered!

I've had words with a couple of sociology professors over poor grades and feedback on assignments where I didn't follow the programming. But these were classes taken as an adult and I have no issue calling out the bias of some liberal frick pushing an agenda. An 18 or 19 year old kid usually isn't going to have the fortitude to push back against the bullshite.

My most memorable moment of bias was in grad school. The prof was a young guy who really promoted his ideology.
Me: So, you believe in multiculturalism?
Prof: Yes, absolutely. We cannot judge other cultures.
Me: And you believe in feminism?
Prof: Yes, women are treated as second class citizens.
Me: So, do you think it's OK to cut off a woman's clitoris?
He went silent. The class leaned forward and asked: "Professor, are you going to answer Zach's question?"
He finally said 'That's a tough one. Let's move on.'

The same professors that want mandatory "implicit bias" training for incoming freshman?

In November of 2014, Rolling Stone released their infamous article “A Rape On Campus.”
It was a complete fraud, but for three weeks, grounds was gripped by a left wing fervor. There was a lot of rage.
The head of the inter fraternity council was told by a history professor, that his work would not be graded and he would receive no credit for it.
The student in question had no alleged connection to the article, but that didn’t particularly matter. If you were on the wrong side of history, you were a target.
A lot of us were on the “wrong side of history.”
Ultimately, the department had someone else grade his work.
No apologies were given though, when the fraud was exposed.
They had started a conversation, after all.

These people maintain a veneer of civility, but it’s awfully thin. And they have zero interest in pluralism.

what's the old saying?
"not all conservatives are stupid, but all stupid people are conservative"

It's real, of course. Thankfully I had some batshit woke lib professors who at least had the propriety to give me what I'd earned despite open disagreement. I still respect them for it, even though it should be the rule, not the exception. At higher levels of education I don't really care if a professor's bias is apparent, so long as they permit fair discourse/disagreement without punishment.
In undergrad I saw it a fair amount, but I also saw a ton of conservatives who tried to make themselves into martyrs with shitty, baiting arguments. They were usually right about the bias of the professor, but they didn't pick fights very artfully. I did the same thing once and probably suffered for it. After that I tried to avoid classes with lefties who dished but refused to take.

I’d feel better about your remarks if they weren’t riddled with grammatical errors.

The Duke professors who called their own students evil for a fraud never apologized and are either still at Duke or have moved on to other respectable institutions like Vanderbilt, etc.
Academia is dogshit.

Been that way for at least 50 years.

I’m a professor.
When grading my undergrad students’ assignments, I hide their names, so I don’t have a clue who they are.
It’s tough to do the same for my grad students (smaller classes, I know how they write), but I couldn’t give a lick about their political leanings when they’re being asked to break down a critical issue.

When I was in college, there were a few of us that would call out a liberal professor when he made statements that were clearly not factual. When I got my grade for one of his tests I knew there was a problem. I asked to see my test and he said he was not able to do that right then.
When I went to his office the next day I discovered that I had received no credit for two of the questions that I had answered correctly and each was worth ten points. Rather than an 80, my true grade was 100. He acknowledge the mistake, which he claimed was a clerical error. Of course, I knew that wasn't true. Something similar happened to one of my friends in the same class. We made it clear that we would go to the academic dean if it happened again.
