Dan Patrick's THC Ban Bill drove at least a million votes away from Republicans to Democrats that's a 2 million when you do the election math.
Vets are the primary owner-operators of the stores; their families are affected by this, their network of friends and their customers. And all of it was done so Dan Patrick could help his friend John Nau who owned Silver Eagle Distributing by eliminating some of the competition from Bud Light

Doesn't like trannies or Muslims. That's enough round these parts. That corruption and incompetence isn't really important because he knows which bathroom to use. And because he's a good little Trump lapdog. Thats important to.

MAGA seems to have a certain disdain for veterans I’m learning.
Posted on 8/17/26 at 2:25 pm to OWLFAN86
Paxton is a clown candidate. But at least he’s MAGA pure, whatever that means these days.
Posted on 8/17/26 at 2:26 pm to OWLFAN86
Didn't that go away? Nothing has changed in the law here from what I know.

I view Dan Patrick and Ken Paxton as the lowest of the low in the Texas Republican Party.
Evidently, at least according to my experiences at various Specs and Total Wine spots in Texas, it's a law that stores selling booze and TCH drinks must ID every single person who is purchasing a THC product, and scan their license; however, the person at the register can bypass ID'ing you for buying booze if you look old enough.
Makes zero sense to me. Seems to me you should have the same ID requirements for both products.
Oh...and, sir, James Talarico is certainly not a vegan. I saw multiple clips and pictures of him over the past four months forcing delicious smoked meats down his pie hole.

If any sane person votes for the Democrat, Texas deserves EVERYTHING it gets.

Yeah they say that Republicans love the Military but hate the Veterans.
The older I get the more this rings true.

Funny how you see all of Paxton's flaws, but you never seem to mention anything about Talafreako, who is only one of the weirdest and phoniest dudes to come along in politics in a long, long time. He makes Beto seem normal.
PS - Do any of you Texans know if Paxton and Tally Freako are going to have any debates?
Posted on 8/17/26 at 2:40 pm to KCT
We’ll see.
Talarico challenged Paxton to 3 debates: 9/23, 10/6, and 10/13.
But Paxton has not yet agreed to the proposed dates.

Historical republican voters aren’t going to Democrat just because of THC issues. That is just a scare article to keep republican voters at home.
The main problem of Texas is going to be all of the relocated Bay Area tech companies who’s workers vote (D), as well as middle easterners and Indians that Abbott has been bringing in gleefully. Dallas and some burbs look like Karachi, Tehran and Calcutta.

I think we have one or two folks on this board who have insider TX politics knowledge, so they may know for sure.
Cruz participated in two debates vs. Beto; and he participated in one vs. Allred. That's with both of those races being absolutely guarantees for Cruz to win, with polls consistently showing him in the lead.
I'm guessing Talarico is itching at a debate, or multiple, in hoping it can help him pull even with Paxton. I do believe, though I have no evidence, he's likely trailing, but much closer to Paxton than Beto or Allred were to Cruz.
The question will be if Paxton Camp thinks it's a good idea, or if it's better just to lob stuff out there from afar and stay away from any televised, or live in person back and forth.

And you Politards have failed to acknowledge I'm not in favor of talarico I don't want him to be senator it will be TERRIBLE
paxton was always going to lose to him because paxton is a fricking idiot
Even in a Republican state like Texas, in the general election, democrats and independents are allowed to vote in it too
After a game the team that has the most points wins
it doesn't matter who you want to win
it matters that if a team fails execute if they've put a shitty quarterback on the field they might lose to a team that you hate but the score is the score
that is not a pro talirico prediction ,, its just math

Paxton is not a good enough public speaker for debates to benefit him. He turtles when asked any poignant question. IMO, his camp scoffs at the request and hopes he can hang on for a close win.

Paxtton is terrible.
I wouldn't vote for any current Texas Republican politician that has anything to do with banning THC/hemp. Not just Patrick--any Republican in the state that has any power whatsoever should jave been publicly raising hell prior to the ban being passed. Heck, Paxton as the AG could have said, I'm not enforcing that shite.
I hate being told what I can or can't do based off of some else's morality when it doesn't affect them or anyone else.

Being a veteran doesn’t make you some righteous hero, some in fact are pretty crappy humans with that being said, banning THC was an idiotic idea

Those Bay Area transplants will vote. They want and are used to access to weed. The gay/tran/etc. digs on Talarico won't work on people lthat have actually interacted with members of the LGBT community and are comfortable and secure in their own heterosexuality. We don't worry about "catching the gay" like many people on here seem to.
