According to the recent Vance interview "no nukes" is now goal #2.
I have to believe saying lower gas prices is now goal #1 was calculated. It wasn't a gotcha question by the MSM with an edited answer. It was stated on a planned Fox News sit down.

Why do you think from Dec 2024 to Dec 2025 Trump and the GOP congress only added 19 million barrels 394 to 413? While drawing up Iran war plans?
Google says 200m barrels can be added in a calender year.
And I ask this while totally agreeing that Biden/dems F'd up previously.

Not an alter. Found the Rant after the 38-3 Rose Bowl to read some Bama tears. Stumbled on the poli board this summer and finally made an account.
A big part of my political interests is the "politics". The strategy. The love of the game if you will.
I have certain leanings, but I find what and why the parties do what they do more interesting then policy. They don't follow through on most of that anyway. And rage bate, from either side, doesn't work on me.

This point intrigues me. I think politically what I proposed earlier may be the only chance the GOP has for keeping the House and avoiding some uncomfortable hearings/investigations that will cut the admin off at the knees and hurt them in the election in 2028.
Now if they don't withdrawl and declare victory before the election, as you say, do "what they want" they're basically throwing in the towel for the House and playing with fire with the Senate. That would speak on who really is calling the shots.

Fair enough about prices under Bidem. Not sure what that has to do with now. This and most midterm elections are a referendum on the man and party currently in the White House.
I don't see anything that can be done Iran wise to gain votes at this point. The only political move is to get less people pissed off so that they stay home, and don't bother to vote against the GOP. Lower gas prices are the best chance at this.
Sure they are cranking up the Muslim and Trans stuff again (see the wnba). But those don't work as well with economic problems present.
The rebranding of the Straight is getting thrown in for Trump's ego so he'll sign off on it.

Future off ramp to Iran

With Vance coming out and saying lower gas prices in now our strategic goal at the same time Trump ia floating the rebranding of the Straight of Hormuz to the Straight of America are they showing us the exit strategy?
Get Google to change the name like they did for the Gulf of Mexico? Coincide it with a withdrawal as the summer travel season ends, resulting in gas prices dropping before the election?

I think the pattern goes:
Resounding Victory obtained
Potential deal soon
No deal
Complete destruction threat
Drop some bombs
I'm not sure where we are at right now.
Edit:
Looking more into the situation I see a curveball has been thrown. Claim the Straight is indeed under our control (victory) and threaten economic sanctions "the world has never seen the likes of" (total desteuction) albeit economic, at the same time. With a rebrand (straight of America).
I applaud the thinking outside the box.

Sen McCarthy had some core followers/support. If he had diversified his fear to include brown immigrants, Muslims, trannies, and sprinkled some deficit exploding tax cuts on top he could have made it to the White House.

I don't think Trump can elicit much range anymore. Sure from the middle age female "Blue Hairs", but the people I know, who don't like him, are mostly just shaking their heads at this point. Raging at, has mostly become, laughing at.
And I think the MSM knows this. I'm seeing less manufactured rage bait bc the material has been writing itself (usually on Truth Social). No need to fabricate BS when Iran, the Lincoln Memorial, the AI photos are already there.

re: Georgia beat TCU 65-7

I believe Michigan would have beaten TCU had it NOT been for the cheating. The word is that TCU was tipped off to the Stalion's/Harbaugh sign stealing and used it against them, (old signals with now different plays/coverages) leading to JJ's 2 horrific pick 6's and jumping out to a big lead.
When Michigan adjusted and began playing straight(er) up, they were able to come back and make a game of it.

re: Miami's 2026 schedule - the worst in the country among realistic title contenders?

As a fan of a BIG school I hope all the campaigning, that has clearly already started, to get more SEC schools into the CFP at the expense of schools like Miami and ND works. Based on the last 3 years it'll make the path for a BIG school to hoist the league's 4th straight Natty that much easier.
