Some of you guys are being unnecessarily harsh.
You can be for trimming the fat in the federal bureaucracies, but still empathetic for someone that's lost a job.
As many have noted, this happens in the private sector all the time. That doesn’t mean it hasn't been a pretty bad day for someone that's just been laid off.

The interviews I watched of the people who were being let go showed the level of arrogance and self importance these people truly have. One woman referred to working at fhe state department as “being on the front lines”. They’re a bunch of entitled bureaucrats who think that they alone know what’s best for the world.

There are 80,000+ State Dept employees and a little over 1% got laid off.Coca-Cole has 67,000 employees WORLDWIDE.
These cuts were WAY overdue in a obviously bloated and out of control govt bureaucracy
