We have about 30 female employee s in our company. No one is that big.

She's obese by any standards

Yeah. I'm fat but nowhere near that fat. She's huge.

There's no place for "sensitivity" when it comes to something like this.

It's a respiratory disease, she was obese. It was a co-morbidity.
God, I hope we aren't ignoring the obvious when we study this disease.

The states that struggle the most with flu deaths are the fattest states, Hawaii, Mississippi, Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia..

Hawaii has one of the lowest obesity rates in the country and Georgia isn't in the Top 15.

If simply being obese, even when you are otherwise young and not inflicted with other significant comorbidities, is enough to make this virus potentially deadly...then we are F'd because we have alot of fatties in this country.

I think that's the reason for concern.

I know there’s gonna be a ton of “she fat” comments here. But she went to the hospital, was on a vent 24 hours later and dead before a week was up.

Those responses just perplex me. Look around...there are alot of people in America who look like her as far as chunkiness goes.

At the end of the day, if we are going to look at a picture and conclude she died because "she's fat".....well.....there are millions and millions of Americans who are fatter and older than her....so thats a concern.

Really not sure of your point. We KNOW the vast majority of people dying of CV-19 deaths are people 70+...this is not even debatable. Just like the overwhelming number of deaths from H1N1 (87%) were under 65.

Of course folks from all age groups are gonna die from this and maybe some might be healthy
but the evidence and odds of people in her age group dying from this are still very, very slim even for fatties.

There are always anomalies. Some 30 year olds die of a heart attack. Some smokers live to be 100. You can't take a worst case scenario and apply it to the whole disease. We certainly shouldn't take actions that affect the entire country based on the case of a single person.

How does she's not have diabetes? Is pre-diabetes not considered a health issue?
