The insurance market will be the first to factor in this change, and it won’t be good. After that, we will just have to wait for the next real natural disaster to find out if we will replace coastal towns with tents and outdoor open fire kitchens.
The coastal lands will be bought by the highest bidder who can self insure and what's left will be park beaches for plebes.

Those things you just mentioned are highlighting more federal regulations needed to build. This is the very thing Trump believes is holding back construction booms. Clue yours in and maybe you could be happier. Are you a person that like fishing crappie( which on an early Saturday morning a normal crappie man would be doing or are you just a crappie type of man ?!

Big, mean Insurance companies! Jeff and Gordon will show 'em!
Insurance will become unaffordable, or the companies will just pull out of the coastal markets. We’ve seen this before. After Katrina and Rita, FEMA put out new flood maps and helped pay to elevate structures in the flood areas. The state will never do that and insurance will never do that.
It’s unclear what will happen. We may be ok, maybe not. But one thing’s for sure, if Trump makes all disaster aid a matter requiring his personal approval, it will be a shite-show that will depend entirely on kissing his ring.

What would the people in western NC have done without FEMA?? Oh the humanity.

Good. FEMA turned into the crutch that never went away and, like most government agencies, became politicized and partisan. It’s also bloated and wasteful.

bullshite
FEMA isn’t perfect but provides necessary aid.

FEMA is the ONLY reason that I’m required to have flood insurance. I have never even had water rise into my yard, not even in 2016. Additionally, my home is off of the ground 5 feet. We would need a Houston type rainstorm for me to worry (and then only slightly).
In short, FEMA has cost me quite a lot of money.
That agency is the other 4 letter “F” word.

I was hit with 5 hurricanes when I lived down there. We managed just fine. It was all before FEMA was created. Neighbors helped each other.

FEMA
Has been a joke for 30 years. The contractors wine and dine FEMA administrators to get their contracts.

Traditionally fema was just your flood insurance then they started bailing out those without insurance it was never meant to be relied on as a primary insurer

I’ve fished from many of areas that I could stand along shore and do as good if not better than dragging out a boat. The memories of being with your children are way better than a Saturday morn on TD.

So? He also said the White House would directly fund aid recovery.
He also said the states should pay for it.
He says lots of stuff. You have to watch what he does:
Trump denies disaster aid, tells states to do more
quote:
Under President Donald Trump, the Federal Emergency Management Agency has denied federal assistance for tornadoes in Arkansas, flooding in West Virginia and a windstorm in Washington state. It also has refused North Carolina’s request for extended relief funding in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene.
Most of the problems with FEMA's slow response comes trying to prevent fraud. Lot's of people try to scam the system.
Now ask yourself, do you really think states, particularly Louisiana, will do a better job of fighting fraud?
