This quote is getting lost among all the "I've become friends with school shooters" quote, which was obviously some sort of mistake and I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt that he meant to say he's become friends with school shooting victims families. The quote about guns, however, was 100% intentional and he meant what he said there.

Seems this would be a slam dunk for Trump and republicans to campaign against since most logical people understand that guns don't shoot people.

I doubt this helps as a campaign issue. As with the abortion issue, the lines are already well drawn on 2A issues. Stay with the "Biden/Harris" economy, Border Czarina Harris failed border, and how much better off most Americans were before Biden/Harris took over. The Democrats just don't have an answer for those things and these are things people care about.

Right, i heard that. Vance should have said, hold on, it's never the guns, it is 100% the people and here's why... I get missing some stuff while on stage and the lights are on though.

My guns aren’t hurting a thing sitting in my closet

It’s some tranny hopped on Prozac and adderall and abilify and lamictal and Xanax all mixed together that’s been radicalized for a decade at how Christian’s and white men are the devil and must be eliminated

I remember as a kid shooting the birds with the BB gun thinking how if mom caught me I could just say it was the evil gun so that arse beating would not hurt as much

JD got caught up in that and was nodding in this part IIRC.
It's a tough environment, as the question was framed specifically with kids getting shot. So he had to show some empathy

It was the biggest L for him last night. It was a massively dumb statement that is right in line with his beliefs. As terrible as his response was to the China lie, this was worse in my opinion.

It needs to be in Trump commercials everywhere.

Who among us law-abiding gunowners hasn't-- to our horror-- watched one of our firearms escape out the front door on its own and sneak off to ambush an innocent bystander before we can do anything to stop it. We've all been there. Tim is right...

That is an argument you make for Vance in front of the right audience.

Not an argument on national tv when you are trying to win women and moderates.

Best he not push guns there. He already has the pro gun vote

A decade? You’re being too generous. Try 2.5 decades for when it started being obvious.

If Trump said it, the MSM and half the country would be calling for his head even more than they already are.

But Walz gets the benefit of the doubt from both sides.

And our resident libs would be all over it calling him stupid, senile, etc. But since it's their side that said it...crickets. At least the rights on this board are admitting it wasn't what was meant.
