I’m not sure we actually live in what could objectively be called a republic at this point.

Voting is likely tampered with heavily.

The candidates for primaries are chosen based on their promises to the donor class.

The cost to run a campaign is in the millions for even house races.

Once they get to DC they don’t do what they campaigned on.

I’m not sure what we have but it isn’t what we’re taught in school it is.
