So Pfizer is creating an Ivermectin type pill now.

Advancing Our Protease Inhibitors
Defeating COVID-19 likely requires both vaccination and targeted treatment for those who contract the virus. At Pfizer, we are evaluating two antiviral protease inhibitors – one orally administered candidate.
Anybody care to know what HCQ and Ivermectin does?

Yeah, but is there an active patent on Ivermectin?
Posted on 8/9/21 at 2:04 pm to teke184
I believe it recently expired which is why it’s used 3rd world - it’s cheap

shite is too cheap... They have got to create something better that costs more...
Posted on 8/9/21 at 2:06 pm to Jjdoc
They are calling it hydroxiverchlorimectin.

this is the Fuaci/Pharma model. Denounce patented drugs, buy time and then roll out it's replica at a 4000% price increase.

Yep. It'll be chemically unique enough to get re-patented, avoid generics, and generate a captive and coerced population of billions of customers. Meanwhile, medical "experts" from the government will block doctors from treating covid with similar, generic and readily available drugs. But WE are the ones that arent woke.

In before "it's a horse med!" or "do you buy it at the Tractor supply company?"
Posted on 8/9/21 at 2:15 pm to Jjdoc
I don't see where that's "Ivermectin type."
There are tons of antivirals, antibiotics, antifungals and antimicrobials and they're not interchangeable.

No it’s cheap. Which should explain a hell of a lot.

Need a doc to chime in, but "protease inhibitors" are a pretty short list of branded medications.
Ivermectin is a protease inhibitor.
Ivermectin is a protease inhibitor.

If either of those 2 cheap drugs are suddenly used in this treatment in the USA for their positive results in saving lives or mitigating issues then I would expect a outcry of all people to take heads of first Fauci and then Democrats for downplaying the need for them

I bet you don't see it

Neither are technically classed as a protease inhibitor.
Ivermectin is a semisynthetic lactose derived from Streptomyces avermitilis B1a and B1b. It works by apparently paralyzing nematodes and arthropods by intensifying GABA-mediated transmission of signals in peripheral nerves.
HCQ is an anti-malarial aminoquinolone phosphate salt and immunosuppresant. As a anti-malarial drug it is a blood schizonticide which interferes with parasite metabolism through uptake in the parasites food vacuole, which inhibits heme polymerization and causes the lysis of cell membranes. As an immunosuppressant, it is thought to suppress intracellular antigen processing and loading of peptides onto MHC II molecules by increasing the pH of lysosomal and endosomal compartments, suppressing T-cell activation. Other proposed mechanisms for the immunosuppressive aspects of the medication have to do with inhibition of leukocyte chemotaxis, inhibition of DNA and RNA synthesis, and the trapping of free radicals, among others.

From the NIH:
Hydroxychloroquine Inhibits Zika Virus NS2B-NS3 Protease
quote:
Zika virus is a mosquito-transmitted flavivirus that causes devastating fetal outcomes in the context of maternal infection during pregnancy. An important target for drugs combatting Zika virus pathogenicity is NS2B-NS3 protease, which plays an essential role in hydrolysis and maturation of the flavivirus polyprotein. We identify hydroxychloroquine, a drug that already has approved uses in pregnancy, as a possible inhibitor of NS2B-NS3 protease by using a Food and Drug Administration-approved drug library, molecular docking, and molecular dynamics simulations. Further, to gain insight into its inhibitory potential toward NS2B-NS3 protease, we performed enzyme kinetic studies, which revealed that hydroxychloroquine inhibits protease activity with an inhibition constant (K i) of 92.34 ± 11.91 µM. Additionally, hydroxychloroquine significantly decreases Zika virus infection in placental cells.
