NorfVA, VABeach, Tiidewater area, is miliitary therefore republican. With Chesapeake going for black Jesus and democrats.

It's not all the Virginians. The problem lies primarily in Loudoun, Fairfax, and Prince William counties which are heavily populated with DC trash, and, to a lesser extent, Henrico county (Richmond metro area). Like most other states it appears largely red geographically, but the highly populated metro areas skewer the vote hard left.

Having just moved to Chesterfield, Virginia, it is North Virginia that is heavily democrat. Everything South of Richmond is majority republican. I voted for Sears but she was stuck on two issues instead of others. We are in for a long 4 years with Spamberger.

The election was held during a government shutdown. Lots of time for government workers to get out and vote.
Plus, Sears wasn’t a great candidate at the top of the ticket. She lacked charisma and came off poorly.
Unfortunately, Jay Jones won the attorney general spot ahead of Miyares who was a good candidate and will be a good candidate for governor in 4 years.
