And those figures are for people with zero recorded income. ANY source of income (Including disability payments) deduct from that amount now.
This kinda math and numbers are over my numerically dyslexic head. But let's take all these welfare moms with 6 kids or more. Each of them on food stamps, disability, and whatever other welfare programs they can sign up for.
Before, some of these slugs were raking in about $2,000 or more a month from SNAP. Each of those participants just took a minimum of a $50 per month hit, at bare minimum. So for one welfare mom, with 6 kids, that's $350 a month, bare minimum not getting paid out.
So there's a significant amount of taxpayer money being saved too.

Have a set of cousins that have 4 kids with over 250k in total net household income combined.
I pay more into federal income tax than they do combined.

Beginning in 2030, states with a payment error rate of higher than 6% have to start paying part of the benefits themselves. The reason for the 2030 start date is because their error rate will be based on the previous three year and they wanted to give the states time to clean up their process.
Alaska is the worst, they pay out nearly 25% in error.

Many sell their EBT cards for cash. Example they’ll have 500 on a card but sell for 300 cash so the buyer gets 200 in free groceries.
I knew a guy who owned a restaurant who bought EBT cards this way and basically used them to buy all the ingredients for his meals at a 50% discount. A lot of Indian and Asian convenience store owners in ghetto areas will do this too rather than buying through wholesale distributors. Buy the cards up with cash and use them to stock their shelves with shite from Walmart or dollar general

I can’t imagine anyone who might desire a decrease in government spending criticizing one attempt at doing so on the basis that it is not also happening contemporaneously at x, y, or z.
