My Father, RIP, was a major in the Marines and my son had always wanted to follow him into the Corp. However, that all changed after the mess that is the military.

I once thought I would be so proud of him following in my Dad's footprints, but now, I am so happy he changed his direction in life.

BOYS?!

I think in the name of women's rights, we should lump females in as well!

That'd help end some of this male privilege

I had to register for it back in the 90s. Was it not a thing since then?

A direct member of my family has fought in every major military action this country has engaged in since the revolutionary war, myself included.

My son WILL NOT participate in some useless action on foreign soil that puts his life at risk. If a uniformed enemy lands on American soil, he can fight next to me but a foreign land, forget it.

How is it more of "a thing" than before?

Try thinking for yourself instead of just repeating something you heard or read.

When did the draft ever stop being a thing?

I don't understand the hysteria over automatic enrollment. It should have always been that way.

They are not serious about wars. There is an invasion at the southern border and they don't give a shite.

Obviously not. (And where is the collective Congressional outrage?? )

So the trillion$ in MIC; all the past "wars" fought, bled, died, and sacrifice for -- what were the real reason(s)? (WW2. Korea. Vietnam. Iraq. Afghanistan. Etc Etc.) When was the last time the US has EVER "defended" mainland USA from an Invasion?? (the answer is special)

Who and what are those 750 Military Bases "defending"?? Anyone??

They have revealed their true intent and the US Goob as puppets of the real "governors" and rulers of America ( They've long told us what we are: THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA is a CORPORATION, as of 1871).

You really don't get it, do you?

MY Life, MY time is my own. We've not EVER been the chattel or property some bureaucratic slave-masters sitting on a Bank Boards or sitting pool-side in Mount Vernon, smoking big cigars. If you and yours are willing to bleed for Corporations masquerading as "Republics", have at it, Audie Murphy.

If we're NOT "defending" our soil, it is NOT our WAR. Capisci??

IF this nation already refuses to defend its border, it's clear "conscription" has merely just another word for bogus "enslavement" and "selective" service (because it has always been a "Selective" process given its exemption of "special" people.)

There are jobs they can do in the military. Draft them.

+100

The above is THE only criteria for potentially sacrificing everything.

Otherwise the whole process is just ...the same ol' same ol' propaganda and Ritual Sacrifice/Abuse the Luciferian Elites, Banksters and bureaucratic tools of the MIC have always imposed in order to "TO SAVE (Fill in the blank____), DEMOCRACY, MOM, APPLE PIE and CHEVYS!")

The draft has been frowned upon since the Civil War. Many soldiers that fought in WW2 as an example would volunteer as they didn't want to be labeled a draftee.
