Should Paxton Debate Talarico?

I didn't watch the CNN townhall, but from looking at X it seems like Talarico got lots of positive, free publicity.
I don't know if there are any true undecided voters out there, but Paxton looks like a coward for being afraid to debate. Do you think that outweighs the risk of losing a debate to Talarico?

I don’t see any benefit. The time is better spent raising more money and focusing on controlling the narrative.

It’s a tough one
Paxton is a scumbag and would probably get whipped, so hiding him might be the best move
However, he currently looks like a big pussy. You can’t run all the “Talarico isn’t a man!” ads and also duck him constantly. (Well, you can, it just doesn’t make sense
)
Real catch 22. They probably should’ve picked a better candidate.

If Texans liked his answers on abortion and amnesty then a debate isn’t going to change anyone’s minds, Texas has made its choice and I will be here to read their excuses on election day. Watching the once independent state become California will be hilarious and sad at the same time

Stuff like this town hall sways almost nobody. It just gives political commentators something to talk about, and something for the other side to worry about. To me, the fact that Talarico may have really just taken 10 days off with the sniffles is a pretty good sign you don’t want him being your senator. Not sure how to package that in an add the right way, but that’s pretty damning to me.

Paxton wants Texans to just ignore him and vote for him anyway. Scared to debate.
The definition of a yellow bellied chicken shite.

No. Paxton isn't a nice-looking dude and doesn't look good on camera. A radio debate? He'd mop the floor with Talarico, but on TV, Paxton’s right eye condition—which includes a drooping eyelid (ptosis), a lazy appearance, and a different color (brown compared to his left green eye) might turn off voters.

What are your top 5 favorite policies of the liberal James Talarico?

Talarico is all but begging for debates, and campaigns don't beg for debates unless they're losing, so no. There's nothing to be gained from it.

Thanks. Definitely a good explanation.
I literally don't watch TV except for sports. Like many people, I intially get news from the internet...and if interested, I dig into it on my own.
Talarico seems much better represented across social media platforms.

Conventional wisdom is that if you believe you will win, don’t commit an unforced error.

You are the very definition of a “man” lol no grown straight man acts like you, not any self respecting one. Your concerns are hilarious

POTUS knew Paxton would never debate when he suggested it on Truth. After Paxton loses, POTUS will claim that had Paxton listened, he would would have won bigly.

Thanks. That's the best answer. I wish Paxton could just say that instead of lying about why it's so difficult to schedule a debate.

He'll probably admit it on a hidden recording.

Are you a Texas constituent or just bored?

Not directly, but it gets chopped up into hundreds of clips with which to saturate social media.

If you aren't a constituent you can't be interested in a race? I could have sworn you started some threads about a certain race in Kentucky.
Are you a resident of Kentucky or literally have no guiding principles? "Ugh, me no like IBM. Me make stupid comment about IBM because me no like IBM."

I think there should always be a debate. When we start getting away from putting candidates in front of the voters to show their ideas, plan, and policy is a bad day for democracy.
Unwilling to face your opponent is a no win situation for the voters. Especially those that aren't totally red or totally blue.
Otherewise you only get to see the commercials to know anything about the candidates and those usually just focus on 1 hot topic or gotcha topic. Nothing about plans, ideas, or policy.

Paxton is officially running behind by 3 pts. Normally the guy running from behind and this close would want a debate. But Paxton seems to be in no hurry to have one. He probably thinks or is somewhat assured that the Republican machine will carry him. He might be right.
