With reasonable limitations, Hell yes!
Not just the defender's property, but any reasonably valuable property that is being destroyed or stolen.

People are more important than property. My first marriage ended in tragedy. I looked for my wife's killer for a year but gave up. Nobody would do it.

Yes, No, you shouldn't.

It’s frightening that so many people in here actually think you can use deadly force to protect property. You can’t do it now. You can’t just go shoot people for stealing a package off your porch.
You can shoot people who enter your home, while you are in your home. The rationale is protecting your person though, not your property.
Edit: and the Rittenhouse trial is not about protecting property.

If you don’t aggressively prosecute thieves and vandals; then you embolden criminals to commit worse crimes.
I’m all for deadly force in the case of someone attempting to steal or destroy that which a person earned. If for no other reason than I’ve heard of too many “petty” crimes devolve into murder.

Read the OP. We are saying you should be allowed to use deadly force to protect property. Everyone here knows you can't do it legally.

In Texas, deadly force may be used to protect property from criminal activity or to prevent a fleeing felon from making off with property, but only if the property owner “reasonably believes” the property cannot be protected by any other means, or attempted recovery would subject the owner to the risk of death or serious injury.

One of the basic understandings of a civil society until barack hussein the racist half-black usurper showed up.

(b) A person may use deadly physical force under the circumstances set forth in subsection (a) of this section if:
(1) Use of deadly physical force is authorized by § 5-2-607; or
(2) The person reasonably believes the use of deadly physical force is necessary to prevent the commission of arson or burglary by a trespasser.
The whole state of Arkansas should scare the shite out of you then.

Does the thief value my property more than their life?
If my family or friends are in the house how do I know their intent.

You don't have to let them in, and you don't have to drag the body in afterwards.
