Might want to look into Christian Healthcare Ministries. No dues increase for next year.
You present as self pay so you don't have to worry about network, and you file for reimbursement.
I had diagnostic tests done this year and got reimbursed once I met my $1500 deductible. Best part was the cash discounts applied to my deductible.

Fuuuuuuuck that

At this rate it's about the same as a few years of premiums and the exorbitant deductible.

The ACA did eliminate being denied insurance for Preexisting Conditions.
That was a good thing.

Inflation is through the roof on everything.
Do you think Healthcare Premiums are only rising because of Obamacare?

The problem with health insurance no matter how it gets funded is the Absurd idea that it basically should cover everything. Your homeowners insurance doesn't cover it if you break a floor tile. It doesn't cover preventative maintenance. It covers when important shite happens. In my entire life I had exactly one thing happen within my immediate family that I truly couldn't have paid for were it not for insurance. And it just happened. But here's the thing. Imagine how much cheaper health insurance would be if the only time it kicked in was for major shite which is the only real reason to carry it in the first place. Truth is that like most people covering a doctor's visit once a year instead of just a $10 copay is well within my budget LOL. I just had a family member spend 17 days in the hospital with four surgeries. That's the kind of thing you need insurance for!

Why? If you have a preexisting condition… you will require more resources… therefore with any new policy, their generally was a waiting period of a year or so… how is that a bad thing?

For the most part, yes.

Still waiting on an alternative from the glorious business man.

It killed the very concept of insurance.

That was one of several reasons that the whole system has spiraled out of control.
FIFY.

Exactly, the concept of insurance companies being in the business of collecting premiums from healthy people and when they get sick telling them to F off
You're an idiot.

The problem with people like you is that you think that government can actually "fix" health insurance and health care.
It can't.
There's no such thing as "fixing" it. There's only picking your poison.
That's not to say that we can't be doing better than we're doing right now...Obamacare is just about the worst combination of choices I can think of.
But everybody forgets that modern medicine is pretty much brand new in the context of human history.
Think about the vast majority of procedures and treatments used today. Just a guess, but I'd guess that somewhere between 80%-90% of them have been invented and/or developed in either my lifetime or my parent's lifetime.
Basically 100 years or so. Even something that we totally take for granted, using insulin for diabetes, is only 103 years old. Before that you just didn't live long if you had diabetes (and by that I mean like a small handful of years).
Medical procedures, medicines, equipment, etc. are increasingly very research and tech-dependent. Which means they are inherently expensive and while the individual procedures do get cheaper when adopted en mass, the continued moving forward stays expensive or even gets more so.
I can't think of anything else quite like that. A resource that almost 100% of the population is going to need at some point, that is inherently expensive to produce AND that continues to—if anything—get MORE expensive to continue to develop as time goes on (for those of you tempted to interject at this point that "other countries can deliver health care far more affordably than we can," you need to know that around 90% of all of the medical research in the world is done here in the US, and the reason why is that we still have a for-profit system, so there is an incentive to do so. Americans pay the freight for pretty much the entire rest of the world to continue to move forward with medical technology. If we didn't pay for research, we could do it too. But then research and development would come to a screeching halt for the whole world).
I just don't know how to distribute such a resource to everyone without it being really expensive.
It seems like it's not realistic to expect that it's possible for everyone to have unlimited collectively-funded access to it all. In countries with "universal health care," for example, there is much more thought given to whether the ROI of any given desired treatment is worth it to the taxpayers. Especially for elderly or terminal patients. People think "universal health care" gets you what you get here except that there's no direct cost, but that ain't how it works.
Here, if Old Uncle Julius is diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer they'll operate and he'll get chemo and radiation even though he's 87 and likely to die within the next 3 years even if he didn't have cancer.
Under "universal health care," he won't get that. He'll get some morphine and some hospice care.

I thought the prices went up because the ACA subsidies were canceled.

Curious as to what people with health conditions requiring monthly doctors visits would do?
Private insurance on the low end is still pretty high.
If you have no insurance you will get treated in the ER but your care isn't the same.
Then if you need treatment it's harder.
But what I've found out is you can only use private insurance for 30 months for some conditions. After that you are forced into Medicare with a secondary.

Catastrophic health insurance and a la carte insurance were freely available before Chocolate Jesus ruined it for everybody.
He dishonestly claimed it was predatory, which was a lie. I know, because I used it.
Brought to you by the same people who spent a billion dollars on a nonfunctioning website.
