If Rob and Michelle were worried about their son’s behavior and the insane history of his son, and his mental state, why did they bring him to Conan’s party????
Tough choice for a parent... give up or keep trying.
That's one of those decisions that you will not know if it is correct or not until complete failure (which happened here) or complete success.
Whether the Reiners should have kept trying to help him, and how to go about that, is a matter of debate. But you can't blame them for that choice. It's a toss up.
Being openly 'scared' is an added dimension. But for parents, NOT anyone else, its still a decision you have to make.

Was he living at his parent's house?
I saw an interview with a TMZ producer on the Law & Crime Network yesterday that said he was living with his parents. They didn't say for how long though.

Would FAFO apply to this situation.
Two different philosophies of rearing children by extremely successful parents.
Reiner vs Trump
or
Hollywood vs The Holy Bible
or
Rear them to take responsibility or make excuses.

If Reiner was a man of God like Trump is, this would have never happened to him. Sad to see really.

C’mon. There isn’t anything any of you wouldn’t do to try and help your son as much as you can.
I don’t like Reiner’s politics either - but you can’t blame him for this.

How do people laugh at what Franken was saying at that roast?

no. that's ridiculous made up maga bullshite intended to distract from trump's bonehead tweet.
always with the pedo accusations. i swear maga talks about kid touching more than actual kid touchers

Why did he start using drugs in the first place? What was he trying to mask? Was he abused as a kid?
You know, sometimes people just start using drugs because they are available--------no other excuse except they just wanted to find out what it's like to be stoned.
Not all of life's problems stem from abuse issues. Sometimes people just love to frick up.

Not by me because I don’t think Trumps tweet was boneheaded.
frick Rob Reiner and his deadass. The world is better off without his bitter arse in it.

Because "scared" didn't mean they thought he'd murder them, it meant they thought he might embarrass them.

I saw a clip last night of Rob and Nick on the Howard Stern show a few years back. Howard asked him about his time living homeless with his father sitting across from him.
I know I damn sure could not and would not ever sit by and watch either of my children live homeless. After seeing many of Rob's tweets over the last 10 years pertaining to DJT, I have zero sympathy for him in any capacity. I am also convinced the wife was well aware of the abuse and trauma Rob put Nick through over the years, and have zero sympathy for her at this time. Maybe other details come out that change this, but it is where I am today.
All of that said, it takes a sick mother fricker to stab both of his parents to death. I see no reason for him to continue consuming oxygen this morning.

One article said Nick interrupted a conversation that Bill Hader was having, and Bill Hader told him that it was a private conversation. Probably took some courage for Hader to draw that boundary, he is known as a nice guy in Hollywood I think. Then apparently Nick stood there and stared for an uncomfortably long time before storming off.
Some weird s***, especially given what happened later that same night.
A 'very loud argument'. What a trainwreck.
I'm sorry, but there's no way that this guy's disturbed mental state wasn't apparent long before the Reiners attended that party.
Nick had no business being there, and now Conan and all present have to live with this morbid Hollywood horror story being part of their lives.
Do drug addicts deserve sympathy? They made choices, no one forced drugs on them. Then they got possessed. At that point they either need to find God or be kept away from civil society until they are sober and no longer a threat to people's lives.

I can only assume you have never dealt with drug addiction in your family.
It sucks...it really, really sucks...but eventually the parents of drug addicts all figure out the best thing they can do for their addicted child is nothing at all. Let them live on the street, doing unthinkable things, until they realize they need help with their addiction.
You can send them for treatment all you want, but nothing works until they want help.
