Serious Question - Has Racism Been ID'd as the issue with the murderous cop?

I might have missed it, and if so, I apologize. Was Derek Chauvin an avowed racist, someone well-known to harbor animosity towards minorities, or in his previous wrongdoings as a cop, had the victims been all or mostly minorities? In his interactions with George Floyd both before and during the incident, was race brought up in a derogatory fashion? I can't remember, and I'm not watching that video again.
Just wanted to know if a hard link to racism had been established here, or if it's being assumed because of the white cop/black victim dynamic.

Only thing I saw is that he had several complaints against him for being too aggressive and had killed a minority before. Not sure if it was justified killing or not.

I actually watched the video for the first time last night.
First I knew that the cop holding intervention off with a veiled threat of pepper spray was Asian.
I’m sure I was just not paying attention and that this has been well referenced.

I don’t think so. For me it is more about his complete indifference to a dying human being.

Of course
He's white isn't he

Oh absolutely, same here. I'm just as appalled regardless of racism being a factor or not. Was just curious if it was.

anytime a white man arrests a black man, it's racist. where have you been? under a fricking rock?

White guy killed a black guy. Racism is the only explanation.
Don't try that if when the roles are reversed though.

Frankly, this is a PR problem we're going to deal with the rest of our days.
The only time the world cares if a black man is killed in the United States is if it is a white person doing the killing, and especially so if the white person happens to be a cop. Thankfully, it is so rare, it is an international story for weeks when it does happen.
Now, can race be a motivation? Sure. Was it in this case? Possible. Is it a "problem" that we face, daily? Not at all. Because it couldn't be an international story for weeks if it was common at all.

Given social media and everything else, either he hid is well or no one is looking for it...
I think I saw something where he had 12 complaints filed against him in 20 years and no disciplinary action... Seems if he was a racist it would have shown prior to 20 years...

Isn't this the general rule anyway? I mean a white cop is always the most racist mofo in the room... always...

If you don't think this was motivated solely due to race then you aint black!

The media seems to be pushing that angle.
So, since they are involved the racial part is most likely another media hoax.
Not ruling it out completely, but the odds are: hoax.

Of course not.
Now, I'm not saying it didn't play a part. And frankly from the little we've heard about this cop he seems to be an all around a-hole so I wouldn't be surprised if he is a virulent racist.
There has been zero evidence of this provided however. Just assumptions as usual.

Nope. Hes just a shitty cop. End of story. No idea why we have to bring the racial issue into it, but everything must be political.

He's apparently had 18 misconduct complaints filed against him during his career. I suppose they could review his record and look for a pattern.
Having family in law enforcement I know having complaints filed is not uncommon and typically baseless, but in light of this officer's conduct I would imagine his are more grounded in fact.

Yeah that's kind of what I was driving at. Unless there was something overt with this particular instance, it's hard to say, so I was wondering if a pattern of racially problematic conduct was something in his past.
Regardless, dude is an a-hole of epic proportions.

For some reason, I got the feeling they had met before. It almost looked personal. Like maybe Floyd was one of his "regulars".

Nope. This has always been my opinion when these situations come up
Was the cop actually racist? Did he wake up that morning and decide ‘hey you know what, I’m gonna kill a black guy today?’
Orrrrr was it just shitty police work? Was there escalation before the knee was put on his neck? How many times to cops hear shite like ‘I can’t breathe’ while trying to forcefully apprehend a suspect?
Are there shitty cops and are there times where race is actually a factor? Of course there is. I’m not too naive to believe that
However, when situations like this arise, I always have a tendency to point my finger at politicians and influencers who use shitty situations like this to drive a wedge into race relations in this country or to further push an agenda.
You could even argue that this thing was spun out of control purposely to throw shade at the upcoming presidential election
But who knows? I don’t have the answers. Just sick of this bullshite. ALL OF IT

This is like the 3rd time he’s been involved in an instance where a potential misapplication of force took the life of a suspect
