First amendment bit this school board square on the arse, as it should have. They shut down moms reading explicit material from books they approved for their students.

A school district was forced to pay over $100,000 in legal fees after banning moms from exposing pornographic material at school board meetings.
Forsyth County School District [FSC] agreed to pay attorney’s fees in a federal lawsuit brought by a group of parents who were censored at school board meetings.
The group, called the Mama Bears, claimed in the federal lawsuit that their First Amendment rights were violated and won the case due to the legal representation of the Institute for Free Speech.

Great 1A victory, but equally as important - is that garbage still in the schools?

This is a great precedent for other school board meetings.

Is the FBI still investigating these mothers as domestic terrorists?

Only problem is sounds like paying it with taxpayer dollars. Would be nice if some of it came from their own pockets

Don't celebrate just yet,
The school board members had the school system's insurance company make the payoff, it did not come from the board members private bank accounts .
And that in itself is Wrong.
The school board members should be forced to resign.

The 100k was paid by the insurance company. This won't stop the board until the money comes out of their wallets.

Kick the groomers to the curb.

Nice win, but the tax payers foot the bill.
The individual board members should have to pay out of their own pockets.

Shouldn't the insurance company stop underwriting policies where the school board allows this type of material?
Or does the left believe the "mistake" is in not allowing the parents to read the material in the meeting, not that the material was inapproriate?

If we want our children to not be good little communists, we need to start taking over school boards.
Oh and we need to fricking end the Department of Education.

So who ultimately pays the $100k, taxpayers?

I'd think taxpayers pay for everything politically connected such as a school board.

Who is paying the fine...school board members...or the taxpayer/us?

That is the #1 penalty to bring this grooming shite to an end.
Hit them in the pocketbook.
I wonder what publicly disparaging crap the SB said about the moms?
With the 1A court loss, slander and defamation should be less problematic to prove.

This should be the very next thing.
